 Not only that, but you could certainly hold it. Hold it like this and use it as a standard. Flashlight, but the number one thing that i don't like about other headlamps, that i've reviewed with the pocket clip is that you always have to take the pocket clip off to be able to connect it to the headlamps strap. And this is the first light that you don't have to do that, and that is absolutely amazing for me, so this headlamp uh bracket here actually has a cutout so that you can place the headlamp directly in the clip and still have your pocket clip on there

 So if you're, looking for a nice, 18650 headlamp, something that's comfortable on the head, something that is going to have the extra run time of an 18650 versus a double a a or a uh, a cr123, and something that has the fantastic capability of clipping right into That bracket mount without having to remove that pocket, clip and being able to quickly switch between headlamp mode and just standard flashlight mode and being able to clip that and slip it in your pocket or being able to hook it onto a pack. This is a really cool option to look at again. They have several different versions of this that have different uh lighting, but i like the tier optics that give me the flood again, just a really heavy duty, light that you're not going to probably be able to destroy while out working or out on the trail again Headlamps like this are really good for not only just camping applications, maybe not the best for ultra light backpacking, because it does have some weight to it versus some of the ultralight options out there. But i did take it backpacking uh this past weekend and it worked just fine for me and i liked having those extra features like the location, uh, finder and also just the different brightness levels

I really can't justify spending more than $40 or something, especially because these are easy to lose and while the more expensive ones are definitely better, like, how much better can they actually be?  Here's what I like about this one: I like that there are separate buttons for red and white light. Some headlamps make you go through white lights before you get to red, which makes no sense, especially if you're using red to keep from messing up your night vision

  In summary I'd say the sudden shutoff is pretty annoying, but for the price, it's a satisfactory product and the 2 separate buttons, that *don't* turn on in your bag, is something I really appreciate in a headlamp.

Mostly good headlamp for the price

 The red LED setting is very bright compared to its peer headlamps and the fact that it has an independent switch for on/off is amazing -- I never understood why manufacturers would put a red LED option to preserve your night vision yet force you to toggle through the white light settings before you could get to the red setting. It has a high quality head band fabricated from elastic and nylon vs. the frizzy cotton or cheap nylon that appears to be so popular with the competition.
