 It has actually become one of my favorite options for Sim Racers who are getting very serious about Sim Racing. When you're ready to step up from the plastic wheels which have done us all very well and will still win a lot of races in today's market. But when you're ready to step up to that type of quality of hardware that's going to last you forever, when you're getting into Sim Racing and you have a little bit more coin, a little bit more budget, I think this is going to be that sweet spot. 10 Newton meters 5

 But today we are really focusing all of our energy or all of our attention on the Alpha Mini base in particular. I did mention this base comes in at 599 dollars, but you actually can get a slight discount if you buy it as a bundle with the wheel rims from Rickmotec, who I'd like to thank because they sent these rims and this unit over for review and they're one of the North American retailers of some Magic products. As the lowest tier in the Sim Magic lineup of bases, you would think the Mini was a lightweight wheel base, but that is far from the case at 10 newton meters. It does pack quite a punch, and it features a lot of the other high-end things that you'd expect in a direct drive wheel, like a super high resolution encoder, three on-board Cpus

If you had between $1500 and $2000 to spend on a wheel, what would you buy?

I've looked at the Fanatec DD, DD1, and DD2 and I've all of those in my cart 50 times. I've looked at SimCube and am interested in that as well. I currently only have a desk, but I'm confident with some modifications and turning down the FFB, I can make any of these work.

I'm not a fanboi, so I'm not sold on a brand name. I want the best, reliable, bang for my buck. Fanatec is the obvious choice, because, you know, Fanatec. One plus with Fanatec is that I can buy direct from them. It's a one stop shop if I want it to be.

Something else to consider, I got a deal on some ClubSport V3s, so buying a Fanatec wheelbase allow me to connect the two. Not 100% clear as to what that actually buys me other than some tuning power?

I also know that I don't know what I don't know. So, I'm hoping the good folks of r/simracing can help me out here.
