The sound that comes out of these doesn't sound that great to me, the headphones that came with my iPod sound much better as do the $15 dollar pair of sport headphones i've got. I wasn't expecting anything great, but i didn't think it'd sound worse than the cheap headphones i've already got. The instructions say that if there seems to be a lack of low frequency bass to try another tip, i've gone back and forth between all 3 several times and tried positioning the headphones in different positions but the bass always sounds muffled.  But that's not really why i bought these and even if the sound wasn't perfect i could live with that

  UPDATE: I tested these out on the lawn mower and was pleasantly surprised that i could (reasonably) understand an audiobook, though i still needed the volume on max. It's not exactly what i wanted as my ears are still going to be ruined, but they fare better than i thought they would at first, maybe because the sound goes directly into my ear and comes out louder? Another thing to add is that when wearing them for extended periods of time (ie. >30 minutes), since they have to be pushed in really deeply for the best sound and to block out outside noise, my ear starts to feel sore despite the tip i use.  UPDATE 2016: I ended up getting used to them and the sound they produce, when they finally broke a few months ago (right around 2 years after i purchased them) i must say i was pretty upset and i think i went through the same adjustment period to get used to my cheap earphones again

 I was really hoping to be able to use these to listen to music while mowing lawns without blowing my ears out, but these really don't block out much sound at all. Reading the reviews for the SE215 i saw that people were complaining that it blocked TOO much sound, that's what i wanted! Silence enough to listen to an audiobook or podcast on a lawn mower. Seeing that they were both rated at 37dB i figured i'd pick these up so i wouldn't feel as bad about breaking a $100 pair of headphones (as is bound to happen) and i'm not sure if i made the right choice. It could just be that none of the tips/sleeves fit my ears quite right (to notice any sort of "noise isolation" i have to really push the earphones in there)

 I am puzzled, though, after reading so many positive reviews of these SE112s at professional/amateur audiophile web sites. In my opinion, they are middle-of-the-line in the sub-50$ segment and you can definitely do better. I am not an audio professional, but have been playing musical instruments as a hobby for over 20 years and have a trained ear. I certainly see myself using these earphones in noisy environments, but not with a DAC or when relaxing - their sound signature is not what I was looking for

 Instrument separation is okay, but the sound signature is not what I imagine by buying entry-level premium headphones. I have AKG and KZ earphones at similar or lower price levels that have warmer/brighter, punchier, and richer sound (particularly the AKG). Playing with equalization helps a bit, and using a DragonFly Black DAC makes the sound acceptable, but simply not good enough for something that bears the Shure logo.  As other reviewers have pointed out - these earphones have an usual positioning and their thick cable is not very friendly in terms of staying behind one's ear

 Apart from that, I thought the earphones were great ,had a great sound quality for the price. If you are a runner, you might want to consider other earphones as it kept falling of but not as frequently as my apple earphones.

I'm a pro audio guy thats tried probably 30 IEM's/Chifi headphones over the last few months. I didn't test these critically so I'm not sure if they best the cheap market there, however, in terms of fit and sound they are not worth the money. If you're limited to this level of spending, you might try the 'chifi' market, like a CCA C10 or go for something like the Sennheiser IE 4 instead, which is surprisingly good but bass heavy.  I wouldn't recommend these, the fit was painful, the accessories were OK, the isolation wasn't special and the sound was pretty poor - sort of that old-gen dynamic sound pushed to its limits - dark, bass heavy, and muddy in the mids

I could forgive the comfort issues due to the sound quality and isolation, but it just was a constant struggle to find the balance between ear pressure comfort with the seal and getting them into 'just the right position' for it not to be uncomfortable, even trying different tips nothing felt as comfortable

BEST BLUETOOTH EARPHONES?!- Sony WI XB400 Review

 Nowadays, wireless earphones are all the rage, especially with the headphone jack

 constantly disappearing from our lives. And since it's about time we all completely said

 goodbye to this not really antiquated piece of technology that still works perfectly,

 let's take another look at an entrance into the super populated and crowded field of

 bluetooth audio devices. This is the Sony WI-XB400, is it any good? Well, keep watching to find out.

 As always, we start with the design. The earphones stick with Sony's current design ethos,

 which is the same as found on the 1000XM3 series of wireless headphones. In my opinion,

 it looks really nice. It's minimalist, it's clean, it's simple. Anyway, it has a pretty simple layout

 in its design and really really a standard wireless bluetooth earphone kind of design.

 It has two earphones, obviously, and two pods that contain the internals of the device,

 the battery and the controls. On the left pod, you have the controls of the device,

 the charging port and a microphone for calls. The pods only complain here is that they're a bit

 bulky and they do feel a bit cheap. They're alright though for me, but for you, you might

 think differently, so be careful of that. The left pod has the controls, all the controls here,

 and it's a very simple control layout. There are three buttons, a volume up and a volume down button,

 as well as a play-pause button. Press and hold the play-pause button to turn it on,

 to turn on the pairing mode, which is also super easy and super fast, really convenient.

 And pressing hold the volume up button will skip to the next song, while pressing and holding

 the volume down button will rewind the track. So really easy to understand, really easy stuff here.

 The charging port on this earphone in particular is a USB-C port, which I think is an awesome thing.

 I feel like everything should be USB-C. Anything new in 2020 should be USB-C, Apple. But there's

 still a lot of micro USB things out there, which I think is kind of sad, but whatever.

 So the controls are really really easy and also one can hang these earphones around the neck

 because they stick together magnetically and you can wear them around your neck like a necklace,
