 It has the same complete seal, anti-allergen filtration system that other premium sharks have. It does really keep the tiny particles in the machine and filters them through a hepa filter, which is something i consider a must in a vacuum, and it's a feature that you don't often see with vacuums in this price range. The new rotator has some other design changes like a foot pedal that releases the canister, so you can more easily use it in lift away mode. Lift away mode is when you detach the pod from the floor nozzle and then carry it around for lightweight above floor cleaning jobs with the attachments

 So it's not like there's no maintenance for you to do, but it's certainly less maintenance. With these brushes. It has the same complete seal, anti-allergen filtration system that other premium sharks have.  Here the rotator actually scored a little bit better than the vertex, though it was close. The point is that the smaller motor size does not seem to be holding this vacuum back in the real world tests which brings us to its pickup ability. But first let's talk about the features specific to the floor head design itself. It has shark's duo-clean system, which is a soft roller in the front and a more or less standard roller in the back

Shark Rotator Lift-Away ADV DuoClean LA502  - REVIEW - Vacuum Wars!

The Shark Rotator Lift-Away ADV is a corded upright/handheld vacuum. It delivers superb bare-floor cleaning performance and should clear most kinds of debris on both low and high-pile carpet. It's also fairly configurable to suit different cleaning requirements, with two different suction levels, two floor settings, and a decently wide assortment of tools and brushes. Unfortunately, it's quite heavy, and its short vacuum hose makes cleaning high-placed areas and furniture a little tricky in its semi-handheld &#39;Lift-Away&#39; mode

 Averaged together, that's a fine score, but what went wrong on the low-pile carpet?To be fair, the top-performing Dyson DC41 only got 60 percent of the mixture from the low-pile carpet, the Oreck 67 percent, and the Dyson DC50 77 percent. The Electrolux did the best by far, picking up 91 percent of the sand and sawdust. Unfortunately, a lot of people probably need top performance in this category. Low-pile carpets are more common in high-traffic areas where small particles like dirt thrive

 So, if you too are a more straightforward vacuumer who doesn't want all that extra stuff, the $300 Electrolux Precision Brushroll Clean is also an excellent option. It's a more traditional upright that still offers a wand and a couple of brush attachments to suit various tasks -- and it performed a bit better than the Shark. Still, the Shark is a very good vacuum that stood up to the competition, and when you factor in its $200 price, it's hard not to be impressed.

 The Shark is a fantastic budget vacuum that holds its own against these two in usability and features, albeit with slightly lower performance marks. Still, I would highly recommend this vacuum. It offers the best value of any of the models and its multitude of accessories will delight the more thorough cleaners among you. Disappointed

The vacuum design is easy to lift to take up the stairs and even when using it without the “base” of the vacuum. It comes apart easily by just clicking the “unlock” button- so no need to yank the hose/wand attachment out and no sticking of the parts to disconnect! That makes it nice for when using in the car, stairs, blinds or just even when using it for those hard to get spots. 

 Such an awesome attribute when you have animals ! Our short haired dog sheds a lot & has significant dander in the winter- but this vacuum feature makes me more comfortable knowing that dust and everything is picked up without hassle. 

Even better? The canister and filters are all unbelievably easy to clean and wash when needed ! Such a great feature to keep the vacuum working at its best!

 So now I'll have to send this vacuum back to Amazon- and although I love the amazing suction it has- it isn't worth the hassle to buy another one. I am pretty disappointed because I had so many people tell me that Shark was better than Dyson.. =/ I guess I'll have to figure that one out for myself!

SO Frustrating, but great suction....

 I found nothing fussy about the Shark. In the end, I didn't have to compromise. I usually vacuum the carpet twice with a new vacuum, once with the new one, and then once with the old one. While not all that scientific, I know that if the old one picks up lots of stuff, they new ones not up to snuff

 Where the Dyson was fussy, the Shark is effortless. The hose detaches from the stem, and re-attaches easily as does the stem from the body, and the lift away, and the canister. I found nothing fussy about the Shark. In the end, I didn't have to compromise

 I haven't had to clean the Sharks brush roll at all. Bottom line for me though is how dead simple it is to empty the canister. a flip of an easily accessible button with the canister pointed in the trash can and its empty. There is a top latch to empty any large items that don't make it into the canister, and it is as easy to empty as it is to avoid contact with dust

A good replacement for my Dyson

  This thing has great suction. I had just vacuumed the day before I got it, then vacuumed again when I got this new one. It picked up so much dust (and dog hair) out of the carpet I was shocked.  It is definitely heavier and a little more bulky than my previous vacuum, but it is just a matter of getting used to it

  The lift a canister is heavy when holding it (detached from the vacuum). I had gone around the house sucking cobwebs out of corners and near the ceiling so there was a lot of moving around - this thing will give you a work out. My other Shark came with a base with wheels that you could set the canister on and it would roll behind you - wish this one had that option.  Someone in another review mention that the cord holder thing that keeps the cord up off the ground while you vacuum didn't work well - that's true

Great Vacuum

 All of these sealed up with rubber rings. I checked the filters (all removable & washable by the way, so you can keep them for much longer if you take the extra few minutes to rinse them after each session or so) & was very impressed with how much they grabbed. Honestly, not gonna lie, I sat there for a moment looking at these filters & thought ".

 Dragging backwards was the same. If you use this on carpet, I highly suggest you leave the main body of the unit (the engine & dust bin) attached instead of separating it from the rest of the unit. Their weight will help counter this.  2: The noise

 To note, I used this for about 40-60 minutes in 2 bedrooms & a hallway, all carpet (that tall stringy type), as well as a hard wood floor living room. For the carpeted area, I ran over everything the day before with what could only best be called a cheap simple store bought vacuum. Enough to do the job on hardwood & still sucks up plenty on carpet, but it isn't gonna win any prizes.  1: The suction power

 Four of them total. A mesh hair filter in the collection bin, a "barrel" sponge-like filter & a finer cloth pad filter before the suction engine & then finally a HEPA filter before any air gets shunted back out. All of these sealed up with rubber rings. I checked the filters (all removable & washable by the way, so you can keep them for much longer if you take the extra few minutes to rinse them after each session or so) & was very impressed with how much they grabbed

Worth It!

 This only comes with 2 of these basics; the crevice and wide non brush (shark calls this an Upholstery Tool). It also comes with a Pet Power Brush but that is not one of the needed basics. This vacuum is heavier at 16 lbs (some sources cite 17 lbs) than it’s other (to me) comparable shark models, the UV850, UV700, and LA520. Vacuum wars has a review on the LA520 which is just like the UV850

 The replacement vacuum I received did not have the squeaking issue. Also this cost $250 during amazon prime day so check out the website slickdeals to see sales on any item. __________________________________________________________________________________________  I just got this vacuum less than a week ago and it has already developed a loud squeal when pulling backwards during a normal vacuum stroke (straight forward and backwards) or when lifting the vacuum in it’s locked position. I just exchanged it for a replacement, hopefully the replacement does not do this

 This vacuum is heavier at 16 lbs (some sources cite 17 lbs) than it’s other (to me) comparable shark models, the UV850, UV700, and LA520. Vacuum wars has a review on the LA520 which is just like the UV850. The UV850, UV700, and LA520 all do not have the powered lift away feature or light on the wand, they each have a 9.5 inch wide cleaning path and weigh about 13lbs

 My biggest single complaint is that the size of the boxy canister means that you cannot get the vacuum under anything like a chair or a stool without lifting the canister off. Then you can get the floor attachment and wand under things quite well with good reach. But, it feels awkward lifting that thing off so frequently because we have many chairs and things that need vacuuming under.  Update: in less than a month the brush roller stopped working

 I called Shark support and demonstrated the issue with the brush roller light green, but no roller movement. The floor suction unit was defective and I was informed that this was not covered by warranty, so I would have to buy a replacement part. Obviously, this made me unhappy and I said so, and so they offered me the part at half price which still doesn't make me happy.  If I had kept the box I might well have returned it to Amazon

.  It has powerful suction. The floor attachment definitely picks up more stuff on carpet. It seems a bit heavy and I'm not sure if this is just because I am accustomed to a stick vacuum
