 So now I'll have to send this vacuum back to Amazon- and although I love the amazing suction it has- it isn't worth the hassle to buy another one. I am pretty disappointed because I had so many people tell me that Shark was better than Dyson.. =/ I guess I'll have to figure that one out for myself!

SO Frustrating, but great suction....

 I found nothing fussy about the Shark. In the end, I didn't have to compromise. I usually vacuum the carpet twice with a new vacuum, once with the new one, and then once with the old one. While not all that scientific, I know that if the old one picks up lots of stuff, they new ones not up to snuff

 Where the Dyson was fussy, the Shark is effortless. The hose detaches from the stem, and re-attaches easily as does the stem from the body, and the lift away, and the canister. I found nothing fussy about the Shark. In the end, I didn't have to compromise

 I haven't had to clean the Sharks brush roll at all. Bottom line for me though is how dead simple it is to empty the canister. a flip of an easily accessible button with the canister pointed in the trash can and its empty. There is a top latch to empty any large items that don't make it into the canister, and it is as easy to empty as it is to avoid contact with dust

A good replacement for my Dyson

  This thing has great suction. I had just vacuumed the day before I got it, then vacuumed again when I got this new one. It picked up so much dust (and dog hair) out of the carpet I was shocked.  It is definitely heavier and a little more bulky than my previous vacuum, but it is just a matter of getting used to it

  The lift a canister is heavy when holding it (detached from the vacuum). I had gone around the house sucking cobwebs out of corners and near the ceiling so there was a lot of moving around - this thing will give you a work out. My other Shark came with a base with wheels that you could set the canister on and it would roll behind you - wish this one had that option.  Someone in another review mention that the cord holder thing that keeps the cord up off the ground while you vacuum didn't work well - that's true

Great Vacuum

 All of these sealed up with rubber rings. I checked the filters (all removable & washable by the way, so you can keep them for much longer if you take the extra few minutes to rinse them after each session or so) & was very impressed with how much they grabbed. Honestly, not gonna lie, I sat there for a moment looking at these filters & thought ".

 Dragging backwards was the same. If you use this on carpet, I highly suggest you leave the main body of the unit (the engine & dust bin) attached instead of separating it from the rest of the unit. Their weight will help counter this.  2: The noise

 To note, I used this for about 40-60 minutes in 2 bedrooms & a hallway, all carpet (that tall stringy type), as well as a hard wood floor living room. For the carpeted area, I ran over everything the day before with what could only best be called a cheap simple store bought vacuum. Enough to do the job on hardwood & still sucks up plenty on carpet, but it isn't gonna win any prizes.  1: The suction power

 Four of them total. A mesh hair filter in the collection bin, a "barrel" sponge-like filter & a finer cloth pad filter before the suction engine & then finally a HEPA filter before any air gets shunted back out. All of these sealed up with rubber rings. I checked the filters (all removable & washable by the way, so you can keep them for much longer if you take the extra few minutes to rinse them after each session or so) & was very impressed with how much they grabbed

Worth It!

 This only comes with 2 of these basics; the crevice and wide non brush (shark calls this an Upholstery Tool). It also comes with a Pet Power Brush but that is not one of the needed basics. This vacuum is heavier at 16 lbs (some sources cite 17 lbs) than it’s other (to me) comparable shark models, the UV850, UV700, and LA520.  The replacement vacuum I received did not have the squeaking issue. Also this cost $250 during amazon prime day so check out the website slickdeals to see sales on any item. __________________________________________________________________________________________  I just got this vacuum less than a week ago and it has already developed a loud squeal when pulling backwards during a normal vacuum stroke (straight forward and backwards) or when lifting the vacuum in it’s locked position. I just exchanged it for a replacement, hopefully the replacement does not do this

 My biggest single complaint is that the size of the boxy canister means that you cannot get the vacuum under anything like a chair or a stool without lifting the canister off. Then you can get the floor attachment and wand under things quite well with good reach. But, it feels awkward lifting that thing off so frequently because we have many chairs and things that need vacuuming under.  Update: in less than a month the brush roller stopped working

 I called Shark support and demonstrated the issue with the brush roller light green, but no roller movement. The floor suction unit was defective and I was informed that this was not covered by warranty, so I would have to buy a replacement part. Obviously, this made me unhappy and I said so, and so they offered me the part at half price which still doesn't make me happy.  If I had kept the box I might well have returned it to Amazon

 Suction power does not compare at all with shark corded, and that is what I am gonna buy again, a corded shark. Also, using on the stronger suction mode ( definitely needed for carpet) will give you only 10 minutes running time. Maybe in a few years I will give it a shot again on the cordless, hopefully power and battery life will improve!!

I am glad that I bought this cordless vac because it is quick and easy to do once a day cleaning. However, the capacity is really limited, the rotating cleaning bars can get easily tangled up, and I am not convinced that its filters work all that well. For my once-in-a-blue-moon cleaning, I'll stick with my much better 30-year old Miele -- more suction, much better for baseboards, etc., etc

No cord is great, but best cleaning is also great.

 The lights are bright, emptying the bin is easy, the cleaner is quiet, it is easy to change the speeds, it picks up quite large pieces, cleans more than adequately and the battery comes out (easily) to charge anywhere you like (worktop, floor etc.) in its own charging unit, so you don't have to store the vacuum near a charging point. Charging from 10% takes up to 3.5 hours

 The ability to buy an extra battery would be nice but then I really would be spending all day with this vacuum cleaner!  Summary: This is a brilliant machine, very cleverly designed, and very well put together. Every component clips together easily and smoothly. It runs quietly and efficiently, And no cord!

The lights are bright, emptying the bin is easy, the cleaner is quiet, it is easy to change the speeds, it picks up quite large pieces, cleans more than adequately and the battery comes out (easily) to charge anywhere you like (worktop, floor etc.) in its own charging unit, so you don't have to store the vacuum near a charging point

A genius machine - almost perfect!

 Things I prefer vs a Dyson: - The battery is removable and docks into a charger rather than docking the entire vacuum. - The motor and dust bin are lower to the ground. The is much better ergonomically than a dyson that puts the weight of the motor right by your hand. - the rollers never get hair stuck in them

 Overall, I'm very pleased. The battery life is 'okay' or competitive with most other cordless vacuums, but shocked me was the noise. This vacuum is VERY loud and almost sounds broken when it is running (I ended up looking at the head to see if something was wrong as it was that loud)

  I am totally OCD and vacuum every day to pickup pet fur on our dark wood floors and carpet so I am very happy with this product.  I love the HEPA filtration system and all of the handheld attachments it comes with.  Battery and charging is easy and so is emptying out the dust cup.  Overall I hope to have years of use with my Shark!

  I like the eco to boost power modes as well for different types of situations where you need more power.  It is easy to maneuver and flexes enough to get underneath the hard to get areas underneath furniture. I've owned a couple Dyson cordless vacuums (in fact this Shark is replacing my last Dyson which is on its last leg) and this Shark is really impressive.  It feels much more sturdy than my Dyson and the pickup is very strong.  I like the eco to boost power modes as well for different types of situations where you need more power.  Hepa filter is fantastic. The digital screen allows you to choose flooring type and strength of suction. Would highly recommend.
