If you have a wide seating arrangement, look into the Samsung Q80/Q80A QLED. It has worse dark room performance than the TCL 6 Series/R646 2021 QLED because its IPS-like panel has low contrast, and the local dimming is mediocre. However, it has wide viewing angles, and the image remains accurate when viewed from the side. Its speakers sound similar to the TCL, and it has better bass, but you still won't get the true rumbling and thumping you'll get with a subwoofer. It has many gaming-friendly features like HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, variable refresh rate (VRR) support, and low input lag. However, it's not a good choice for dark room gaming, and the local dimming feature performs worse in Game Mode.

If you want a TV with the best sound and a LED panel, the TCL is a great choice. If you prefer something with wider viewing angles, check out the Samsung.

I didn't get the chance to hook up a ps5 or an xbox series x to this tv in time for the review, but i can tell you that, based on its specs should be very good for those new consoles. The tv has 4k 120 hertz input

 You can see there's quick access to a lot of different settings, including game mode picture mode and other extras. You can get to really quickly without diving deep into the menu. I like that, a lot.  What you're buying this tv for is design and features. It has a really nicely integrated external look with a great remote and a really nice smart tv system. It also has excellent connectivity if those are reason enough for you or you just like the samsung brand. The q8t is the best value in the lineup for 2020

Samsung Q80T QLED TV review

 And the fast refresh rate is no doubt great for gaming. Also, the "smart" features (like using streaming apps, etc) is much improved from older TVs at this price point. This TV has a faster processor and that makes switching from Youtubetv to Netflix, etc., much easier

 The soundbar works, but I can't use one remote to control volumes, etc. That's disappointing. The 6 speaker sound on the QLED 80A is an improvement over older TVs at this price point, but not as good as a soundbar w/ subwoofer. Wish I could figure this out (if anyone knows the solution, please comment and tell me)

It's good/ as advertized, some quirks I don't like

 Too cumbersome and quality is very lacking on the 3rd party apps I've found. Only other option I see is casting, but why did I buy this tv if I have to cast? Casting is in low res as far as I've found so not a great option. Voice recognition is worthless and doesn't seem to understand much in the way of commands and finding stuff. Kinda like trying to get Siri to understand what you're looking for

  However, Samsung needs to get a better guide for use. Very cumbersome to add channels and does not have app availability like a Roku. It's "atmospheric" screen saver is just awful as are most of the other options. Forget surfing the internet

The best 75 inch TV under $1,000 is the TCL 75S546. It's a budget TV that competes with the Hisense U6G, but the main difference is that the 75 inch model uses the same panel type as the 65 inch version we tested, so the results are valid. The large size is great if you have a big room and want an immersive viewing experience.

It's a good overall TV that performs well in dark and bright room environments. It has a high native contrast ratio for deep blacks and excellent black uniformity, but its full-array local dimming feature doesn't improve the picture quality in dark scenes. In well-lit rooms, it has great peak brightness and decent reflection handling, meaning visibility won't be an issue. The built-in Google TV interface is fairly user-friendly and has a ton of apps available to download, so you won't have to buy an external streaming box, but the interface feels laggy at times.

Sadly, this TV has terrible color accuracy, and even calibrating it doesn't fix it that much, as it has a red tint that looks distracting. Also, it has trouble properly upscaling lower-resolution 480p content, so it's not a good TV for watching DVDs. If you don't watch DVDs, it's a great choice for a TV under $1,000.

It displays a wide range of colors in HDR, and it supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ formats, meaning your streaming content won't be limited to HDR10. The 6 Best 4k TVs Under $1,500 - Spring 2022

 My issue is going to be around lower resolution games. It does have an auto game mode, which doesn't seem to want to be as auto as I think it should be, and the input lag is sufficiently low, as is the case with most TVs with a game mode. 4K 120 performance is great for those few titles that support it right now, and I don't think I'm going to spend too much time griping about the lack of VRR right now either. On the whole, it's fine, but nothing super exciting when it comes to gaming

 Anytime I press the back button to get out of, say, a YouTube video, and I have to repeat myself, I'm not pleased. If I have to repeat myself more than once, I'm annoyed, and yes, I found myself annoyed by this TV sluggish operation regularly, to the point that I would rather buy a Chromecast with Google TV and use that every day than what's built right into the TV already. And aside from it being laggy, I, and others I've spoken to, report some just weird glitches from time to time. Like the image taking a while to catch up to a recent change that's been made, or some audio dropouts when switching from one input to another, and they're hard to duplicate

 Bottom line, this TV has been a bit glitchy and laggy. I ran the software updates, it's connected via ethernet, so it's not hurting for bandwidth, and pure and simple, the TV is sluggish in its operation. Anytime I press the back button to get out of, say, a YouTube video, and I have to repeat myself, I'm not pleased. TCL 5-Series Google TV (S546) Review | A balancing act

 Is the new TCL 5-series Google TV better than the Roku version?

 I'm Caleb Denison, and this is my review of the TCL 5-series Google TV.

 That would be the S546 model as opposed to the S535 model, which runs on the Roku TV

 We're going to find out what's better about this Google TV version, what is not as good

 as the Roku version, and why, when you add it all up, you may or may not want to buy

 The TCL 5 Series Google TV version is a brighter TV than the Roku version, and it offers 4K

 120Hz for gaming, whereas the Roku version does not.

 Although it's important to point out that VRR is not available on this TV.

 So from those two metrics alone, the S546 here has some improvements over the S535.

 Well, yeah, in some ways it is better, but in other ways it is not.
