Q800a is newer and is 5.1.4 with the currently free rear speakers. The few reviews I read seem to suggest the bar even on its own is great so assume it's even better with the rears.

SN11RG is 2020 model and 7.1.4 seems to get mixed reviews and is currently half its original price at £799. I have seen recent reviews that suggest firmware updates have improved the bar a lot.

Ideally I am looking for good surround with Atmos capability but sound quality is the most important to me so would settle for a great 5.1.4 over a meh 7.1.4 if that makes sense.

Would love to know your thoughts and opinions.

 But if you're watching like the news for example, or something that's, maybe low low key on tv they're, not so much. For that i mean i wouldn't say that i would recommend it if that's the type of moving experience that you usually take in. So if you're watching like the news, you know anything like that movies that have lots of talking documentaries. Possibly i don't know that i would recommend the samsung rear speaker kit for that

 Do you watch a lot of movies? Do you watch a lot of tv? Do you watch a lot of documentaries and the news? If so, then, that this speaker kit may not be what you need, because this sound bar does just fine on its own. Now, if you are a gamer, somebody who plays a lot of games - and you want to have that awesome - surround sound, feel sound behind you, then yeah. The rear speaker kit would definitely be something that you'd be interested in. Maybe if you're uh somebody watches a lot of movies, then yes, that would probably be something that you would want myself

 i am using them with a 2021 samsung 80a-qled and a 2021 samsung q700a soundbar. ---- pros: they pair easily and flawlessly. it took me less then 5 minutes and only 2 steps to pair them to the soundbar. i love that they are truly wireless, with no wires having to go between the speakers

 No need to run any wires to the front where your soundbar is.  No regrets, sounds amazing.

I bought the Samsung A650 soundbar and it’s great but I wanted a little more. These speakers are a perfect combo paired with a Samsung soundbar.  As some reviews mentioned, if you have low sound coming from these speakers, hit the “gear” icon on your soundbar remote until you get to the rear speaker option and raise the volume up. Mine was fine out of the box though

I had a very similar situation, I had the 4.40s and got the SHP9500s and I really like my 9500s although I must say they aren't similar headphones, 9500s brought out treble way more and is lighter on the bass but it's not sibilant or lacking bass and the mids aren't as excessive as the 4.49s. However I must note the 9500s have a very light clamping force

<p>Edit: I think is important to state that I&#39;m looking for a budget around 100bucks. One of the main reasons I&#39;m stepping down from HE400i is because I can only buy it for around 250 bucks + shipping and for an Amp I&#39;d like to get the BTR5 or the ES100, because I want to go wireless and the final price is way beyond what I can afford. So anything above a hundred is above my budget and I&#39;d very likely have to get an Amp too.</p>

A good open back upgrade to my Sennheiser HD 4.40BT

After a terrible experience with Samsung's shop and customer service, I finally received *the beast*. It was extremely easy to link it, just had to connect the speakers to the receiver, power it up and press the "Up" key on the soundbar's remote for 5 seconds. Voilà ! It's that simple.

On stereo content, I was surprised to discovery they actually do a pretty good job at improving the soundstage as well. It does not widen but definitely gains a lot of depth, although not as much as true surround content, of course.

So, are these 9100S worth it? From what I've experienced, definitely! Especially given they're cheaper now in some places than when they launched, and about half the price of the higher-end 9500S (which is not compatible with the Q900T anyway), it is a very interesting solution.

The sound quality is fine without being incredible, and it is on par with what the soundbar can do, so you won't have the effect you may have with some products where the rear speakers are considerably worse than the main item, which creates a really weird sound signature. Here, everything works perfectly.

On the sound part now! The sound of these speakers is surprinsigly good and big given their size, and they work really well with the Q900T, even though they lack upfiring drivers.

This is what’s important to my experience, and the 9500s deliver it the best for me right now. I’m always looking for something that will take this a step ahead, but man like people have said what a gateway. Enjoy them!

 Sure, the angle conceal the connection to the speakers themselves, but that angle makes it impossible to conceal the actual wire in any stand, for the people who don’t want to see any wires. Buy a couple of wires when you buy this set.  My only suggestion to Samsung on the design would be to try to find a smaller power cord that can more easily fit in a speaker stand pole.

 I had hoped to route the cord through speaker stands that I purchased for them- but the plugs were just too big. I ended up cutting the cords in the middle then splicing them back together in order to keep a neat appearance on the stand. They are not the greatest but they do the job. I wish they were wireless. You still need to connect them to the wireless tower that comes with it.

Rear speakers are absolutely fantastic for movie watching and even modern shows. SWA-9500S with upfiring Atmos speakers makes them even more immersive. Definitely go for them and convince your wife to let you install them.

So I bought a Samsung QN9 (QN90A) 65” TV from Costco for $1700. I also bought a Samsung HW-Q700A soundbar from Best Buy. With mounting bracket and professional to install it, I’m roughly $2500. This is also my max budget.

Earlier I saw a deal on Best Buy that if I bought HW-Q700A ($400 Black Friday deal) and SWA-9500S ($250 Black Friday deal) together then I’ll receive an additional $50 discount. Making the total $600 instead of $650. 

Is this worth “refunding” my just recently Soundbar just to get this packaged deal despite breaking my max budget by another $200?

The other obstacle is convincing my wife wall mounting the rear speakers because they’d stick out like a sore thumb where the open kitchen and living are connects. Lol

Is the Samsung HW-Q700A fine without SWA-9500S?

4 system. In the same order of idea, you have LG soundbars, like the SP7Y, a bit more expensive but better sounding according to reviews, which is also upgradable with rear speakers.

 It also have the advantage to be upgradable with the addition of optional rear speakers SWA-9500S, which will add 2 back channels and 2 up-back channels, for a complete 5.1.4 system. In the same order of idea, you have LG soundbars, like the SP7Y, a bit more expensive but better sounding according to reviews, which is also upgradable with rear speakers

Right now I'm considering the JBL 5.0 Multibeam and the Sony HT-G700, as I want to keep the price below 1000 Canadian dollars. 

I have a Sony x950H TV, the 2020 model. It comes with an eARC, but I've heard these TVs have issues with their eARCs that cause the sound on soundbars to drop out. If anyone with this TV has experienced this I'd love to hear from you. I could always save money on a soundbar and put that extra money into building out my 4K collection instead.

Which soundbar should I get?

The Samsung SWA-9500S rear speakers each have their own power supply and use a 5’ power cord. That is different from some other Samsung and Sony rear speakers that use a powered hub and speaker wires connecting the hub to the speaker’s themselves, which do not have a power cord of their own.  These speakers work only with the soundbars: HW-Q700A/ZA HW-Q800A/ZA HW-Q900A/ZA
