And they've built that around a core that's perfect for every kind of freestyle riding. A combination of tri-axle and bi-axle fibreglass means the board has the perfect balance of torsional stiffness with a more forgiving freestyle flex. The gunslinger carbon inlays running down the sidewall help to reduce any chatter when you're riding fast on the edge and that freestyle edge bevel at the contact points helps to just lift the edge up enough to make sure it's a really catch free ride on the rails

 It craves speed. The board hands over more and more control to you the faster you go, tempting you to push it a little bit further on every run.

 This board does have that little micro rocker zone in the tip and the tail, and you can utilize that to your advantage when you're buttering, but it's so small, most people probably aren't going to feel it. So you end up just more or less having to get your weight outside the nose or the tail. You're kind of manhandling it to get it to do what you want it to do. And I don't mean manhandling like you got a Hulk on it

 So you're doing a nose press, you hit the end of the feature, you're going to be able to spring a little bit more. The best way I can sum up this board is hard part carves, where you're setting that edge in, maybe going around a feature or some stupid fat skier that fell in your way, and you just got to get around them. It's going to be fine. It's when you try to lay it over into Euro carve territory, it kicks out

 So you do have to load up the camber profile on this board to get it to engage to pop, and that's really it. It's a predictable snap on this board. It just feels like a board you bet on forever. You understand how it's going to pop, and you know that what you put in is exactly what you're going to get out

The 2023 Salomon Huck Knife Snowboard Review

 This is going to give you the load, pop, snap, and drive of traditional camber, but you got this micro rocker zone which just decreases the edge bite out there so it's not as hooky. This board is available in 148, 152, 155, 155 wide, 158, and 158 wide. I rode this board at Copper Mountain on a mostly bluebird day. There was a few clouds just floating through and there was a load of moderate winds with warmer temperatures

 This just all works in conjunction to keep you more flat based. Who's this board for? The high end freestyle rider. The nice thing about this board is it's predictable after you've made a few laps on it you understand how it's going to ride it doesn't throw you off you can just predict how it's going to transition from edge to edge how it's going to pop how it's going to press how it's going to butter how you're going to be able to play around with it. Which is nice it's nice to have a predictable board because then it doesn't really make you wonder well can I do this can I not do this you're just sort of like yeah okay I can handle it

 But you can butter on this board. You can get sideways. You can swivel around and do what you need to do. It's just got a lot of rebound to it just with the camber profile and the flex in there

Now when it comes to jibbing you want to hit those ideal sweet spots which are closer to the tip and tail contact points right where that micro rocker is, right where the camber comes down. Get your weight out over there and have a little bit more speed than you think

 It has a medium flex rating, so it's solid enough for riding fast through choppy terrain and landing jumps, but it can still be pressed without too much effort. It has triax glass, so there's a little bit more torsional stiffness if you compare it to other similar-ish boards like the Assassin. It has a sintered base and a bit of structure, so it's pretty quick as long as you keep it waxed. Although I originally bought it as a board to ride everywhere, it does its best work in the park

 I'm 6ft tall and about 155lbs and I have it set up with positive 12 on the front foot and negative 9 on the back. To me it rides like an easy camber board, has a bit of forgiveness in the nose and tail if your riding isn't perfect. It has a medium flex rating, so it's solid enough for riding fast through choppy terrain and landing jumps, but it can still be pressed without too much effort. It has triax glass, so there's a little bit more torsional stiffness if you compare it to other similar-ish boards like the Assassin

 The new model has some extra carbon in the side walls and a different side cut. The older model that I'm riding is a 155cm version and the newer one is 158cm. The pink bindings are the Burton Cobra Sharks, the white ones are the Burton Malavitas and the black ones are the Solomon Holograms. All of them are pretty mid flexing sort of freestyle bindings anyway

 After you've ridden it for a while, it seems to break in pretty nicely, though it's not too soft, you can still ollie it without a problem. The edge hold is pretty good, even on pretty icy snow, and although the side cut changed between those two models, I can't really tell the difference. I rode in the park quite a lot, but it held up pretty well. I never had any cracked edges, nothing that needed repairing

 Today I have a review of the Solomon Villain, a board that I spent quite a lot of time riding. I'll go through how it rides, the edge hold, pop and how it feels in the park. It's a medium flexing true twin park board. The same as quite a few Solomon boards it has the rock out camber profile, which is flat between your feet, camber under your feet and rocker on the nose and tail

 If you're going to ride it in the snow domes, ride it on some rails. The really nice thing is, if you're improving your riding, you've got that intermediate stage, and maybe even picking up your first board, you've done a few holidays and things, because of that little bit of rocker in the nose and tail, it's that little bit more forgiving, slightly softer flex, and it really just helps wind you in and out of those turns. And because it's got a bit of carbon in there, a good bit of Canberra, it's nice and stable. Once you've got through your improvement time, this really will carry your riding all the way through

 We've just been out for the morning on the new Salomon Villain. With the Villain, we've got a Canberra True Twin snowboard, so the nice thing with this, it's really nice and light underfoot. It's got a little bit of carbon in there, so when you're doing some ollies or you're winding it in and out of turns, you really feel some life in the board. But the great thing is, you've got Canberra under the feet and a good amount of rocker in the tip and tail

I just picked one of these up from Curated. I'm 5'5 160lbs and previously rode a 147 2010 model retox and was out riding my edges. I like to throw down at higher speeds and had been wanting something with more flex and more edge hold but didn't really want to size up. This board was it my first day out I got to experience it on some varying conditions from used up hard packed trails to freshly groomed

The camber/rocker combo felt great, the board floated over the snow and felt weightless under my feet

Board slays the mountain

I know this is a freestyle twin,  but it really slays the whole mountain!  I've ridden this in everything and everywhere.  Ice?  No problem with its powerful camber.  Powder?  Set the bindings back an inch and once again no problem!  Park?  What do you think ,)
