 When you really are steering the board, you notice that right away that there's just a little bit more power versus Roam's asym heel cup, which actually only has the outside of it. When you're pushing out, you got power, but when you're flexing on the inside, you kind of lose a little bit. This is the opposite of that. You just have more power in there

 They never stick. There's no problems with them releasing. They're not something that you're going to be fumbling around on, having issues to get in and out of when you're in the snow. All I can say is they work, and they work exceptionally well

 Flip the tab. Do your thing. You're good to go. The overall flex of this binding is middle of the road

The 2022 Rome DOD Snowboard Binding Review

 Hello snowboarders of the internet! I'm your host, Averin Lefebvre, and in this video we're going to be reviewing the Rome DoD binding.

 I rode this binding at Rapo Basin in the preseason. It was a mix of green-blue skies with high cloud cover, moderate sustained winds, ice-chunder shade, a little bit of slush, kind of just a mix of preseason conditions, and I rode it on my Telos Mike Aranquit snowboard with my K2 Thraxis boots.

 As this is basically the little brother to the cleaver, you lose some of the adjustability on this binding. So what do you lose? Pivot mount and the canting on the highback. That's the two big ones.

 So what do you have on this? Flip cams for adjusting your toe and heel strap. You also have the ability to rotate your highback right there, so you just adjust those.

 You have your forward lean adjustment. Your toe ramp is really easy to slide forward or backwards. And then you have four screws that you need to adjust to adjust the heel cup to get the boot to sit in there absolutely perfect.

 Other than that, it's pretty straightforward what you have with this binding.

 With the straps on this binding, you've got a mix of Rome's Ultralight and Oxtek straps. So you've got the Oxtek on the toe strap, and then you've got the Ultralight on the heel strap.

 The Ultralight is a foam strap, so there's a lot of give to it, and it does a decent job of just contouring around the boot. It's not like the Oxtrep where all the padding comes from your boot.

 This actually does have some padding in it, so there's a little bit more give. It's a little bit softer. The Oxtek strap will contour to just about any boot shape, so you don't have to worry about that when you're putting it over the toe box.

 It does its job. It does its job well. These straps will hold you in. That's really all I can say about them.

 These ratchets work well. They climb well. They release well. They never stick. There's no problems with them releasing. They're not something that you're going to be fumbling around on, having issues to get in and out of when you're in the snow.

 All I can say is they work, and they work exceptionally well.

 At the end of the day, the Hi-Back does what it needs to do. You can push into it. There's a little bit of give. There's a little bit of rebound. It's nothing exceptional.

 It's there. The forward lean adjustment is easy to adjust. You don't really have to worry about it. Flip the tab. Do your thing. You're good to go.

 The overall flex of this binding is middle of the road. It's a workhorse. It's one of those bindings you get in, and you can charge if you need to charge. You can be laid back if you need to be laid back.

 You do have the full wrap heel cup, so you do have a little bit more power on the inside and outside of that binding. When you really are steering the board, you notice that right away that there's just a little bit more power versus Roam's asym heel cup, which actually only has the outside of it.

 When you're pushing out, you got power, but when you're flexing on the inside, you kind of lose a little bit. This is the opposite of that. You just have more power in there.

 The overall ride of this binding is smooth and predictable. It's a binding you put on. You know you're going to get power out of it when you need it, and you can demand a lot from it when you have to, or you can be laid back.

 That dampening underfoot does a great job of dissipating kinetic energy, just those micro vibrations. You don't really feel as much underfoot. Overall, it's solid.

 Who's this binding for? The all-mountain rider that does a little bit of everything. Essentially, this binding is just a downgraded cleaver. You lose the pivot mount and the ability to cant the high back.

 Most people probably will never cant their high back. That's just my belief on that. Otherwise, it's predictable. It does a great job. I was riding it with the 2.5 degree wedge in there, so they were a little canted.

 I actually didn't notice them being overly canted, which is nice. I couldn't find online, and I forgot to ask the rep if these do come with the 0 degree in there, but if not, you can order them, I'm assuming.

 The new foam on the bottom feels exactly like the old foam. It just looks like they molded it a little bit better on the chassis. Overall, it's a solid binding. It does what you need it to do, and you're able to ride. It's predictable.

 It just feels like a binding you've been using for years. Comparable bindings, the Union Force, the Burton Cartel, the Ride C8. This has been my review of the Rome DoD binding.

Rome D.O.D Review | The Best Snowboard Bindings 2019/2020

 The Rome DoD. It's the all-terrain vehicle of snowboard bindings. Born in the park, raised

 in the alpine, these things don't care where you take them so long as they're screwed to

 your board. The anti-shock highback is one of the most versatile in Rome's line. Just

 the right amount of flex whether you're riding in the park or the backcountry and loads of

 dampening to reduce any chatter or vibrations when you're riding. The ultralight heel strap

 is built around an EVA construction with a really ergonomic shape. That keeps response

 up to a maximum without any compromise in pressure points. The auto straps make it super

 easy to strap in. This additional elastic strap between the mounting and adjustment

 points helps to pull the heel strap back and give you really easy access to the base plate

 so you can strap in with next to no hassle. The DoD is built with the underwrap heel hook

 and it's made to take a beating. It's the do or die binding but this thing is going

 to look after you anywhere you take it on the mountain.

It's supportive It's responsive and it's really the type of binding I can put on any board and put under any rider The Rome DOD is one of my favorite catch-all bindings So it's the type of binding that if you have no idea what kind of riding you really want to get into or you want one binding and One board to write everywhere so like you know your one binding quiver binding basically Then the Rome DOD is one of my top picks for that style out there It's just capable of just about anything and it's super comfortable and supportive to be in all day So definitely a top pick for me is something that I would personally ride every single day as my go-to binding Thanks for watching.  So getting in and out of the binding It just gets a little bit easier when that bungee is tight because it pulls that ankle strap out of the way Your high back forward lean is again standard cam flip it down move that up and down to where you need it to and lock it back in place your angle adjustments on your high back Pretty standard again, you're gonna loosen these bolts rotate it However, feel like you need to and tighten it back down. It doesn't have kind of this drastic shaping to it or anything It's got a little bit of foam to it to kind of soften up the bite a little bit Really the big feature to talk about is that hinge that's back there Overall, it's a high back that I really like and it has a really really nice feel to it it's always as supportive as I need it to be and Offers that little bit of kind of damping and kind of softness to it with that hinge back there The overall flex on this is pretty dominated by the underwrap heel So you have an aluminum upper frame and heel cup that you know Starts from the heel runs all the way to the front of the binding and wraps underneath the front of the binding so having that raised sides on either end as you're kind of flexing laterally into the binding that provides a ton of support to the side and then Driving forward or back into this binding you get a lot of power into it because that aluminum drops from You know your heel cup straight down below your heel and then also wraps just underneath your toes as you push you back into that You're not just pulling up on the aluminum frame from the top of it or through a bolt But you're actually literally pulling up on that under nylon frame from underneath the frame so it has a lot of response to it and Just feels really solid and super supportive underfoot and that's really kind of just one of the biggest characteristics I noticed at Roam Bindings is they always just feel really really supportive It's the type of binding that you know throughout a super long day or a long trip and you're riding You know four or five days eight hours a day in a row This binding is going to provide the enough support to it to keep you riding and just stay comfortable that entire time And then you know full foam footbed that has a little bit of a thicker feel to it So provides a nice smooth feel underfoot as well The big word here with the ride feel of this binding is support. It just feels supportive You have this nice comfortable, but it has that progressive support to it with that ankle strap The further you push into it the more support is going to give you back. The Rome DOD Snowboard Binding Review

 Hello snowboarders of the internet. I'm your host Kevin and I'm here with another angry snowboarder review and today

 We're gonna be talking about the Rome DoD

 I've heard these at Breck pretty super late season snow conditions basically showed it

 It was pretty hot and sweaty out for the most part. So mashed potatoes snow

 But in the shade I was out early enough that the shade was actually still decent

 It was definitely fast and kind of crusty. So you kind of have to pay attention what was going on

 I was just cuz it was frozen slush at that point

 So that's what I wrote it in and I wrote it on my Rome Agent Alec in a 155

 It is positive camber. It matches up well to these bindings and looked fantastic
