 There you go, build quality is the same for both and USB connectors on there. Okay, so let's have a look at the actual case itself. Really nicely packaged, so there you go, NES Pi case plus retro flag for all of us. Do like the packaging, very nice

 Now the micro SD card, like so, and you can just grip onto it to pull it off again, it's quite good, okay, so the next thing to see is the actual screws you get with it, so the bag that has the screwdriver, which is quite convenient getting that, so you'll have six longer screws and two shorter screws, so if I briefly flick over it will show you'll get two small ones and six longer ones, and the six longer ones go in these locations, and the two shorter ones go in those locations, so if I flick the actual case over, so you've got the location for the longer ones, three there and three there, so one there and one there, so one thing to be aware of, you've got a safe shut down switch just here, if I move it into that, just make you aware, and let's screw this in then, can be a little bit fiddly, we'll manage, there you go, board is secured in, next we can actually plug in the fan, the fan is just there, obviously you've got red and black on there, so red being positive, so I'm going to put it around this way onto there, and the actual fan actually clips onto this, the actual case, so if I just push it on like so, then I can screw it on from those locations with these screws that it came with, so interestingly enough looking on the instructions, there's no mention of the actual fan and connecting that, but pretty straight forward, obviously on the board itself, you've just got the words fan just there, so you know where to connect it, there you go, the fan is in place, so we can just now, just ensure it doesn't pop off anything, put the case on, and then the six screws can sit in place, okay so the case is now secure, and the raspberry pi is within the case, so the next thing is we're going to get our retro pi image onto our micro SD card, which is in there, and then we can show what the actual usability is like with the actual controllers you get with this, okay so I'm at my monitor, we've got the NES pi case here with the raspberry pi already installed as you've seen, now we've adjusted the actual configuration to allow the graceful power down to work, so that's quite useful, so once you've finished playing with it, no messing around, just hit the button, script will run and it will gracefully power it down, description below will have details of how to configure this, so if you're wondering how it's done, pretty straight forward, so let's initially just power it on, and if you listen carefully you can hear the fan that's running in the case, it's a very subtle humming noise there, not too bad, so let me reposition the camera onto more of the screen, and then we'll take our controller 1, and we'll attempt to start a game up. Works well, it's quite responsive, let's start something up so you can see it in action, there you go, really good. Ok, so you've seen the unboxing of this NES pi case plus, build quality wise it's really good, nice it's got all the connections available on there, nothing's actually hidden, anything that is hidden from the actual raspberry pi is readily available, it's got power and reset buttons as well, so quite useful, but obviously you need a script to be running on your raspberry pi to make use of those, micro sd cards are easily available, it's got a compartment for additional micro sd cards as well, so that's quite nice, really cool way of doing your gaming, nice that the actual package comes with the controllers, a fan and heatsinks for your actual raspberry pi, it's got a screwdriver as well, and really it is just a complete package, you don't really have to mess about getting anything else, so I'll put those in, easily fits, there you go, for storage as well, it's quite nice it comes with that, so there you go, details are in the description below, thanks for viewing and don't forget to like and subscribe.

 Okay let's open it up and see what you get inside. So if I carefully open this, okay so some extras in there, let's open this up. Two USB ports for each of the controllers, NES Pi case plus retro flag for all of us, there you go, you've got your ethernet and two additional USB connectors on there, let's look around it, you've got some additional points there, you've got your micro USB, you've got an HDMI port and another port there as well, and then micro SD card slot there. Okay what's this, does this pop off, oh okay storage point for your micro SD card, it's quite useful, okay the actual case itself, top pops off, build quality is good, quite nice and solid, and within there you've got a screwdriver and some screws, and board with the actual additional things, obviously ethernet, USB and a connector that connects straight into the Raspberry Pi, quite well made I have to admit, very well made, and looks pretty cool as well

 Okay so next let me show you how to actually place your Raspberry Pi inside the NES Pi case and connect it up, so I've got a Raspberry Pi here, a 3B model, so I've had a quick flick through the instructions, so I'll show you how to connect it up. At least I can use the unit without worrying about breathing on the wire and losing power, but I'm really not a fan of having to modify brand new products in order to get them to work properly.  Luckily, Amazon's efficient return policy mitigated some of the pain here, but I think I may have learned my lesson and will probably not buy any more cases that don't allow for direct connection to the Pi's proper ports

Looks cool as heck, but....

 My last gripe has to do with the downloadable script for enabling the buttons. Pressing reset reboots the whole system. There is a fork of the script by a user named crcerror that causes the reset button to exit your current emulator and return to Emulation Station rather than restarting the whole system. I would recommend using the fork by crcerror rather than the script provided by the case manufacturer

 I was able to plug my wireless keyboard dongle into one of the USB plugs on the PI so it doesn't take up another external port.

 One review says to use a magnetic screwdriver. Mine came with a magnetic screwdriver, so there. I'm going to keep that sucker in my electronics toolkit. Don't forget the little switch on the circuit board that enables the safe shutdown feature

 I followed the included instructions and found out that the case was dead on arrival. It would not turn on at all. I would hold off on buying from this seller. Don't let the good reviews fool you like they fooled me

 Now that said it's pretty easy to assemble. All you need is a couple of screws to secure down the solid state hard drive and then there's a couple more screws that you would use to hold the shell together. Super easy, very very straightforward and pretty much anybody can do this. Now if you already own the Nest Pie for case and are the type of person who uses different builds for different things on the Raspberry Pi then I would highly recommend this

 These are the new retro flag replica NES cartridge hard drive enclosures and I'm not gonna spend a substantial amount of time on them since they are really basic devices but I still wanted to show them off. Now the packaging is pretty simple and in the box you only get a couple of things. You have the enclosure itself along with a USB cable to connect the dock to your PC. Now we've actually seen this form factor or something very similar to it in the past by retro flag specifically with the NES Pi 4 case

 You can't actually use any solid state hard drive that exceeds seven millimeters in thickness. I haven't really had this issue but there are some on the market that are a little bit thicker so if you have one of those it's probably not going to fit inside of the enclosure. Now that said it's pretty easy to assemble. All you need is a couple of screws to secure down the solid state hard drive and then there's a couple more screws that you would use to hold the shell together

This case fixes one of the most annoying things about the Raspberry Pi by adding a power button.

0. Total garbage excuse. I've ordered a couple of 8bitdo Bluetooth controllers, so hopefully that will semi-solve the problem. Not happy with my purchase, considering it just cost me an extra $80 in controllers

  I ran into an issue when I tried using my trusty Logitech F710 Gamepad, though. This is my favorite wireless RetroPi controller and works beautifully when its receiver is plugged in straight to the Pi. I have used it for years with different cases and different RaspberryPis, and even used it successfully with the same Pi I attempted to use in the NESPi 4, when I tested it with a "Zebra" layered acrylic case.  I am not sure if the issue with the NESPi 4 case is because of the small USB extension or because of some other radio interference the case is generating

ALMOST PERFECT... but not quite.

  The included nes style cartridge as a case for your SSD adds perfectly to that aesthetic. I ordered some custom cartridges so I can switch them out from time to time. Game night is gonna be on like neck bones.

A nostalgic and entertaining system.

  Update: Still waiting of RetroFlag to give a damn and fix the safe shutdown script. Clearly this company does not care about delivering a good working product.  update 2: Also the heatsinks with the flat RPi logos just poorly executed here, they only give you two and one of the photos with the product show different heatsinks.

Safe Shutdown / Reset script not working on current Lakka versions

 I am able to play N64 games without any lag or issue (which I could not do without overclocking).  The safe shutdown feature is a nice bonus, as is the SATA drive attachment (which I haven't used yet). The only complaint is that my bluetooth devices seem to have a very limited range, though I'm not sure if that is due to this case or just the Pi 4 in general.
