I needed something that was going to elevate the tablet up so that it sat next to the Macbook while it was on the stand. This stand does not accomplish this, as it sits about 4 inches too low to match the height of the computer when both are on stands. If you just need a tablet stand, then this little guy should do the trick nicely; but if you're looking for something a little taller for use in conjunction with the Rain Design Macbook stand, I would recommend that you look for something else.

So the Roost V3 is a slightly better design over the RoostV2 and definitely better than the Nexstand. However, the biggest upset is that the Roost V3 doesn't come with any protective case at all. Like not even a soft cloth carrying case. Unfortunately there is no third party or even main case made by roost themselves

At any rate an elegant way to raise up your iPad and/or iPhone to a variety of angles and free your hands to do other things. Love Rain's products!

I think it is a good traveling laptop stand but definitely not at this price point. I can get another traveling laptop stand for far less and an aluminum laptop stand to use at home without the fear of it collapsing on me when I am working on it.

If you have an SPX, this thing is worth ordering from Amazon, if only due to the free return shipping if you don't like it. EDIT: I tried using the SPX on the stand with it oriented in PORTRAIT ORIENTATION, albeit in its lowest height setting. It worked pretty well and was pretty stable. I suppose this news isn't revelatory to most readers, but if you have a SPX, this might be useful

My husband borrowed it for a few days and decided very easily that he needed one for his MacBook Pro 13" (2009). When I went to buy one for him, I saw that in the time that I bought this one, the cheap knockoffs became available. Thanks to another reviewer, who had purchased both and did a side-by-side review, I was able to see the little details of where the Roost has quality and the knock off doesn't. Also, it occurred to me that Roost is a startup that spent time doing the R&D while the knockoffs just reversed-engineered their idea

The top enclosure does not slide down enough to embrace and secure the iPad. And with the height fully extended, the iPad in landscape does not align with a MacBook on an mstand. If they release an updated version or Apple enable portrait mode for sidecar then I would reconsider purchasing this. Until then I opted for the Kabcon (awaiting delivery)

So, who is this product ideally suited towards? Folks who intend to use their computer and stand with external keyboards and mouses. Unfortunately, most people do not lug around these accessories in favor of portability, thereby reducing this item's value. In conclusion, this product most likely is not what you want and despite the clever design and USA production (which I LOVE). Even more frustrating is that there aren't any legitimately portable solutions

I like that part of the product; however, it feels like it's going to break easily I wish I would have picked up one of the competitors for much cheaper because this one feels like a knock off with a premium price tag. In the end I don't know how durable this product is going to be I just got it today, but, for the price tag the first impression sucks. It feels like should be worth maybe $19.99 or even $24
