My plan is to get an ebike for dropping of my toddler on the way to work and picking him up on the way back. Thus the bike needs to accommodate both a child and my work bags/panniers. 

I am torn between buying a cargo style ebike (ex. Rad Wagon) or a commuter bike (ex. RadCity) and attaching a cart (ex. Burley Bee)  to transport the toddler. Any ideas? Advice? Experience?

My thing is that the cargo bike are big, clumsy, hard to store and aren't versatile. What if I want to take my ebike on a long fun ride etc? I feel like having cart that can be attached gives me more choices.

All thoughts appreciated.

A cargo bike vs bike cart for commuting with a child

 But this is by design, according to CEO Mike Radenbaugh. After all, it’s not meant to replace your regular bike, it’s meant to replace your car. 

The RadWagon from Seattle-based Rad Power Bikes gets me most of the way there. This electric cargo bike is the first legitimate car replacement that I’ve encountered in my (admittedly) short time testing and reviewing e-bikes. The RadWagon mostly replaced my own need for a car for over a month of testing. I used it to take my kids to school, commute to work, and go grocery shopping
