 It's a pity I couldn't configure all these things separately, I'd like to have driven on Amateur level but with damage turned on for example.

So, it's okay to buy ONE Experience pack from Steam, but if you want any more, buy them from their site instead. Also, don't worry about duplicate content, you won't be charged for it.

 Amateur has realistic physics, but with traction control, ABS and zero damage. Get Real turns the driving aids off (but damage is still optional). It's a pity I couldn't configure all these things separately, I'd like to have driven on Amateur level but with damage turned on for example.

This is for me the best racing game there is and that for years and it get now even better with Ferrari in the game in the DTM 2021 . I love the feeling of the FFB in my steering wheel and it's verru precise . Still every year there are coming new tracks and cars .  they all are worth the money! Considering most cars were made with advices from actual racing drivers (DTM, WTCC, etc.), it's no wonder they're quite pricey. They supposedly handle like the real thing. They're fun, they take time to master, they're somewhat challenging

Graphic wise it looks good enough for a game based on isiMotor2 engine that had powered SimBin's and other racing sims of the past e.g. GTR2, GT Legends, Race07, rFactor&rFactor2, Automobilista,  and many others I can't think of at the moment.

Compared to turn key options such as AMS though dated in some ways, at least can be dropped into a league and work and rF2 which is also league capable, this still has a long way to go.  If one tries it solely on the free content, I suppose it's okay but it will get repetitive very quickly.  Even with all the content, hot lapping against AI gets old and other than the built in public Multiplayer Lobby which leaves much to be desired and you won't find much that's worth the time.

Pits and setups are limited.  No tire pressure adjustment at the moment and limited chassis setup.  The ability to 'Save' a setup only recently became available and oddly was news as though this was a breakthrough of epic proportions.

Multiplayer is okay when it works but often there are visual glitches with cars overlapping or stationary images (ghost images) just kind of being left behind around the track.  It needs work.

 Also important to buy vRP - their virtual currency - instead of buying directly. Can shave of about 30%.

Basically as the title says. I can't really afford iRacing or RFactor 2. 

I downloaded RaceRoom and tested out the free content and it feels good. The VR is so much smoother than ACCs which is the main sim I play atm.

Im just wondering if its worth buying the full package for £90. All the tracks I want bought seperately end up not far off that price. I mainly play online and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe there's regular properly ranked races? I also don't mind offline with AI and I have heard the AI is decent so what's your opinion?

 Oval tracks, classic tracks, fictional tracks, stock cars, open wheelers, fantasy cars, GTs… there is almost nothing there isn't there with regards to mods. While the amount of mods doesn't reach Assetto Corsa by far, it's still an impressive amount that will keep you racing almost everywhere with almost everything. The support for virtual reality is good and the frame drop from flat to VR very small. Immersion is good and racing VR on R-Factor 2 is tons of fun

 First thing Studio 397 should do with the new money should be to build a usability studio. The ergonomics and the speed, or lack thereof, of the UI are a catastrophe and R-Factor 2 and its many fans deserve better. You can buy some of the cars on their own, some only come in packs, same goes for tracks. The prices of the DLCs are all over the place, with packs sometimes costing less than a single track or car, sometimes not

 Sadly, we get the feeling that outside some very interested pockets, the community is dwindling. Special events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans raise the interest for a short while, but that doesn't seem to have stopped the trend. Maybe the acquisition through Motorsport Games as well as the new games based on the R-Factor 2 engine will reverse the tide. As I said at the beginning, things may change

 Other sims are coming near that level of detail though, notably Assetto Corsa Competizione and Automobilista 2. Studio 397 work incessantly to keep moving R-Factor 2 ahead and the future under the umbrella of Motorsport Games may speed up that process again, time will tell. rFactor 2 Review 2021 - rfactor 2 worth it?

 I'm getting 144 plus frames, fully modded ultra graphics, Assetto Corsa, I'm still getting a bit more than that, and it looks a ton better than R Factor 2. And I have a quite beefy PC as well, so if you're running a more lower end system, you're definitely going to be playing R Factor 2 on its worse looking side, and it looks a lot, a lot worse. That gets us to the graphics and sounds. The sounds are probably more so in neutral, they're okay, they're not good, they're not bad, but the graphics on ultra settings, it actually doesn't look too bad, but again, with the heavy performance cost of R Factor 2 for no reason, I assume a lot of you will not be able to play on ultra settings, so you'll definitely be getting R Factor 2's graphics on their back foot

 Most recently, it actually got URD's Toyota GR010O Le Mans hypercar. That car is amazing in Assetto Corsa. I haven't tried it out for rFactor 2, but if I'm gonna go off of what Mike from Sim Racing 604 and others who have tried it say, it is pretty damn good. Now I am already two and a half minutes into this review and we haven't even talked about the physics yet, and to put it short and simply, they are the best in sim racing

 The next pro, if you would have asked me a couple months ago to do this review, would have gone in the cons section, but thankfully Studio 397 have fixed it, they have updated their UI, and this UI is actually quite nice, I actually am a big fan of it, if you want to see a more in-depth video on that, I'll leave an iCard above. The car models, especially from the Image Space Incorporated era, are absolutely abhorrent. I know the game came out in 2012, but even then, the car models, especially the interiors of them, from the original ISI cars, which are still in the game, and most of them are the free ones that come with the game, look like something from 2007. And even with that, the performance of R Factor 2 is not great

 That gets us to the graphics and sounds. RFactor2 vs Raceroom

rFactor 2 for it’s AI, and all those mecanics that made the race realistic. ACC for the best GT3/GT4 physics and graphics. IRacing for multiplayer, emptying my wallet and made me enjoy my first endurance race at the 12h of Sebring.

I finally decided to get a cheap racing wheel. I picked up the logitec g920 at best buy and downloaded raceroom. I know it's not an amazing wheel, but I figured it would be a solid starter wheel to test the waters. 4 hours of racing a P1 around and I'm hooked. I know iRacing is the top of the top when it comes to sim racing. But what would be a close second? I'm looking for something that would have decent offline AI, and also a good amount of people online. Basically a sim I can grow on until I'm ready for iRacing. I know I'm hooked, but I just can't justify the price until I know I'm going to be putting time into this new hobby.

Just got a wheel and tried raceroom, where do I go from here?

 I want to play mainly for the feel of driving with my new sim racing set up. I don't really have any plans to play multiplayer against other people.

He has Rfactor 2 and Assetto Corsa, and I was absolutely blown away (I might be going back today to have a sneaky play on rFactor again). The frame rates, the smoothness, the graphics, it was a completely different experience from console.
