Poly Studio P5 Overview - Video and Audio Tests

 Pricing seems about right and has not inflated due to COVID shortages that some brands have expereicned.

Now working from home 3 days a week and set up a permanent office space, it became glaringly obvious that the built-in webcam in my work laptop was not going to cut it. I suffered from a huge amount of glare and a washed-out image due to a window in my home office. Using the Studio P5 has eliminated these two issues and could be dialed in quickly using Poly's software. The wider angle of the lens has provided a more natural viewpoint when on Video calls which is important if you don't like the blur features in products like MS Teams

 Image quality is sharp with little noise even in low light conditions. One area which could do with improvement is the autofocus; on occasion, the camera can refocus every few minutes for a split second despite looking in focus. I hope this can be amended in a future firmware update. The mounting bracket feels solid and easily adjusted

 So thank you really appreciate the support now for 129. Is it worth this price point i'd say so? A lot of comparable models are in that price. So it's a high quality product. It looks good

 So we're gon na see how the performance of this webcam it's a 1080p hd plug and play, and you can use it with the poly lens software. So you can adjust some of the settings on this camera, but let's get to the fun stuff, let's plug it into the computer, so you can see exactly how this webcam looks all right. So this is what the logitech c920 looks like. This is just plug and play

 Now, if you're, using a built-in webcam on your laptop or you don't, have a webcam and you're doing video conferences, it's not in a the best experience that you could have. It'S always a little bit awkward when you have your video turned on, and then somebody on the other side of a video conference doesn't have their video on it kind of feels like you're talking to nobody, or you know it just feels a little bit disconnected as If you were talking to somebody face to face, but they had their back turned to you almost it's it's this weird experience, so you want to make sure that you have a webcam if you're doing any video meetings of any kind and then, of course, the microphone Built in here helps your voice be heard if you have no microphone at all, but of course we always recommend going with a headset for the best overall experience and we can help you find the right headsets cameras and speakerphones.  This is what it looks like full 1080p and then we're going to switch over to the p5. So you can get a back-to-back view of what that looks like all right. So now this is the p5, and this is what it looks like in comparison to the logitech, which is also another very popular model. So this gives you a good idea of the video quality that a webcam per can produce for you being that a lot of us are doing a lot of video meetings

 Crystal clear video, to the point where we were getting comments from others using their laptop & other external WebCams. Works best with proper lighting but even in low lighting / sitting with your back to the window rather than facing it, the camera does adjust to the subject pretty well. It is really easy to set up, the drivers install on their own so it is quick and simple to swap it between computers as needed. But at this price, getting one for each computer is not a huge deal

 I was on the class reunion just a few days ago, and so we had like a dance party reunion type thing and then I was using just my MacBook laptop and it was at night and I was seeing you know they had it set up. So they highlighted different people throughout the thing. Boy. I got ta tell you, the MacBook did not did not provide the quality of picture that I thought it would by itself, because I hadn't used the native webcam on the MacBook

Dave? Why should people - many people through the 
pandemic of last year went out and bought webcams. 

If you were fortunate and lucky, Dave, because not 
everybody was able to get their hands on something  

especially that was budget friendly. No, I know. 
You know what? The stuff flew off the shelf,  

everyone was desperate for a webcam, a lot of 
people were looking at entry-level budget type  

products. The Poly Studio P5 hadn't been released 
yet at that time so people were really just  

grabbing whatever they could grab and, you know, 
a lot of the folks that I've been in touch with,  

they really weren't overly impressed. Now you

at that time they they had something. It was 
fine. It was okay. It did the job but now  

they've had a chance to use video and they're 
like "You know what? Maybe I'm not going to be  

scared of video anymore". Maybe it actually 
brings a lot of value into the conversation. 

Maybe it's folks that are doing demonstrations. 
I know that we've had to use it a couple of times  

to speak with engineers about little things on 
our products and whatnot but it's helped out a  

lot this Poly Studio P5 when we're talking about that and 
we're going to get to the fine details on what  

this looks like. But let's let's tell a little 
bit of a the story on this Poly Studio P5 like

easier for anybody and it's not just for,
