Ownboard Bamboo AT Pro review

 Two months ago, in June 2022, onboard revealed the Bamboo AT Pro, aiming at the budget market

 with an unbeatable price to performance value, even with its $1200 tag onboard the NACA corners.

 So, if you don't have the time to watch the whole video, here's the answer for you.

 For $1200, this board is perfect for the first electric skateboard.

 I haven't seen anything that can beat it in value yet, however, if you do want to know

 more about this board, come with me and let's begin.

 Like the name hints, the Bamboo AT Pro features a bamboo deck with fiberglass and a Canadian

 The deck is 38.6 inches long and 9.5 inches wide.

 The onboard offers two battery configurations, 29E cells with a 3A charger for $1149 or the

 The board uses two 170KV6368 motors and the same 12-inch TKP trucks as the Zeus and Zeus

 The bushings are generic, but the pivot cups are from Riptide, the best you can get especially

 With the stock setup, the board has a top speed of 32 miles per hour.

 The Bamboo AT Pro also has an IP rating of IP65 and it comes in at 27.5 pounds.

 The board comes with regular grip tape pre-installed, I personally do prefer the stock grip tape

 over the foam ones that also come in the box, but onboard also included the foam grip tape

 A handle is also included in the box as well.

 The deck does flex, but it is more on the stiff side, which isn't a bad thing, especially

 A more flexible deck is indeed more comfortable, but in the trading of enclosure clearance

 As mentioned, it has a 38.6 inches long and 9.5 inches wide deck, plenty for bigger deals

 It also has a sweet dropdown and a flat profile, which makes the deck safe and sweet.

 The board uses the same TKP truck design as a Zeus lineup.

 They are very stable, even with a truck on the loose end.

 Combined with the dropdown and one of the smoothest power delivery I've ever experienced

 on the board, the board covers better than even the Zeus Pro, which is their flagship

 For bigger deals, I can see that the board might produce less than ideal torque, especially

 on a hill climb with a lower gear ratio, in order to achieve a higher top speed.

 Also, since the board is 10S and uses 18650 cells, it will produce less wrench than the

 I enjoy the flat profile with decent dropdown, but for me, with the streets of New York City

 when running this board with street wheel setup, even with the cloud wheels, my feet

 do get numb from extensive riding due to the vibration.

 It is easily fixable by wearing a pair of sneakers that offers better cushion than the

 vents, but I feel like I'd put in here as well.

 There's no new design, new technology in it, but because how safe and well-priced and well-designed

 it is, it's perfect for the price and for new riders to join the hobby.

 I can't stress enough how smooth it rides, and this is the one factor combining with

 the price and decent specs put it in the perfect first board title for me, especially with

 Onboard accomplish the mission 100% another time, like the Onboard Zeus Pro.

 Even after switching to the smaller 120 millimeter Cloudwheels and riding the GT setup, going at 25 miles per hour or 40 kilometers per hour still felt pretty sketchy to me. Of course, any Evolve rider will tell you that double kingpins are not meant for high speed. More the reason to use a better bushing if you ask me. In fact, with harder bushings in the Cloudwheel setup, cruising comfortably near top speed would have been possible, thanks to the very low riding height

 Similar to the other own boards, the Bamboo uses a 10S Hobbywing ESC for this board. Perhaps the test is slightly conservative this time as the speed wobbles kept me from going as fast as I usually go, but the numbers are without a doubt impressive. One thing to note though, voltage sag does set in at around 25% battery level, and when that happens the board will have a delay when drawing power for acceleration. However, the acceleration curve does stay smooth and the power picks up eventually, so I think that's forgivable

 The marketed top speed for the AT is 24 mph or 38 kmh, while for the GT it is 26 mph or 42 kmh. Again, these numbers are similar to the Evolve GTR. While testing own board's range, I had no trouble exceeding the top speed in both AT and GT setups. The board even felt like it could have given me more speed, but it was too wobbly for me to really test the limits
