In sum, a rugged stuff sack with practical extra features but you pay at the cash for it.

I purchased this stuff sack to help protect my sleeping bag from getting wet when hiking. The bags are on the weighty side of the stuff sack spectrum but that is the necessary trade off for strength and durability.

I use this dry bag inside my day pack or overnight back to protect the gear I need to keep dry, especially if there is threat of weather.  It has been very helpful in keeping my down jacket, extra layers, camera, iphone, etc dry during spring and summer flash storms that dump a lot of rain and precipitation in a short period of time. I also use this dry bag to help organize and reduce the size of the contents of my pack.  With its minimal weight, why wouldn't you want the assurance of waterproofing, and the added organization to your pack?
