 This is the Onyx Books Max Lumi, a 13.3-inch e-ink reader with front lights, color temperature adjustable front lights, touchscreen, and a Wacom EMR pen. So obviously, you know, not a mainstream e-ink reader, the kind that you put in your pocket or your purse, and you read at lunchtime when you're off from work or whatever. This is for those of you who are doing things like reading and annotating PDFs, for example

 And of course, for those of you who are into audiobooks, since you can download programs like Amazon's Audible, you can do that as well. Battery life on this is, you know, e-ink readers, they typically measure in weeks, not in hours or maybe days at worst. It's going to depend on, well, how bright you set the front lighting to be on this or the side lighting, whatever you want to call it. It's decent

 It has a 4,300 milliamp battery. It supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0, which is not that super fast, but hey, that's fine. I found that it lasts about, with average youth, say two hours a day, that this lasts a week on a charge

As far as note taking e readers go, there are quite a few options. Since you said you are going to use it for both reading and note taking, I would say to avoid Remarkable, Sony DPT line or Kobo Elipsa as they are only good at either one of them but not both. 
So, I would say a better option would be either a Likebook or an Onyx Boox device. Both of them are Android based and you will get the benefits of Android like using your own choice of reading app, easy sideloading of books by using multiple methods like via USB or autosyncing with Google drive etc. Among these two brands, Onyx devices have better software while Likebooks are slightly cheaper.
Now coming to the size, there are primarily three sizes, 7.8' or 10.3' or 13.3'. If you primarily read PDFs, don't go for a 7.8' size as it would make the text too small. If most of your books are in reflowable format such as epubs, then 7.8' will be fine. If you read a lot of PDFs, then decide the size based on the native size of the PDFs and your use case. If the PDFs you read are of A4 size and have narrow borders, then 13.3' will be a better choice for you. Otherwise, 10.3' will be a perfect size. Btw, the devices from Onyx have a split screen option so you can open a book of your choice on one side and notes on the other side which will be really helpful for taking bullet points while reading imo. If your workflow uses this a lot, then go for a 13.3' as the extra screen size really helps.

Hey !

I'm a french philosophy student, i'm in my fourth years and I read a LOT, every day ! But books are expensive, rare ( yes ! some is hard to found at "normal" price, even in France ) and heavy ! i can't take them when i'm on travel ! ( and having multiple book in my bag when i go to the school is heavy, not really comfortable )

I tried to read on my laptop but my eye going lazy really fast and i can't read in a park when the sun is out ! ( and the battery is also a problem haha ) 

So i want to know if you have some suggestion for a good e.reader for my utilization ! i also need to take many notes when i read a book, also he had to be solid, i need him H24 on my bag haha

A big screen is a plus because i'm also a weeb, if i can read some fun manga on it when i have a hegel-burnout is really cool haha ! ( a big storage or micro SD compatibility is a plus !! ) 

The price is not a problem if he's justify ( my birthday is soon and i have money from my summer job ), i see this more like an investment for my studies haha

E.reader for a philosophy student ?

The RM2 is 404g and no one really complains about it. Weight is probably a much bigger issue in the 13 inch size class though. Because these devices are so large, there's a considerable amount of lever arm/torque when you hold them in portrait mode in one hand while trying to highlight on the other. I think the 368g Quaderno Gen 2 A4 vs the 570g Boox Max Lumi 2 makes a usability difference in that class of device

If you treat this like a tablet (WiFi, Bluetooth, web browsing, etc.) then expect to get typical tablet battery times—perhaps a day or so. But if you turn all that off and just use this for viewing maps and reading, then expect to get weeks. You can even take a screenshot of your map area of interest and set it as your shutdown image

This is a versatile e-ink device that's far closer to a general purpose tablet than a mere e-reader.

The battery life is solid. I can go a day on one charge easy, but I tend to recharge my electronics every evening.

 I have my hand entirely on the screen here without any issues at all. Again here, writing is just smooth. It glides across the screen. It works great

 There is also a pretty decent amount of weight to this tablet, which I wasn't expecting either for maybe because it has Lite in its name, but this is actually a pretty sturdy and solid feeling tablet here. We do have those AKG speakers on here, which is great to see, although it is a dual speaker setup, opposed to a quad speaker setup, but I think having those dual speakers will be sufficient. We'll check out the audio quality here in a bit. On the top here, we have our mic and a headphone jack, nothing on the left side of the device

Now, this is Samsung's latest tablet that was just released about a week ago, and its main selling point is the price, coming in at just $350. And this is significantly cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, which comes in at $650. We have a very similar screen size at 10

But for regular users? Take this money and spend it on the lowest-priced iPad, and take advantage of what the iPad OS and its ecosystem offer, which will—for most users—be far more appropriate.

But for everyone else, it's hard to say that iPad OS isn't a far better tablet environment at this point. As a user, I seriously prefer Android vs. iPad OS by far, as least as far as the UI and user experience of the OS goes. But also as a user, there's no denying that while an iPad edges ever closer to a legitimate laptop replacement (albeit with restrictions I struggle to live with—hence buying this), an Android tablet is still just a giant Android phone—with mostly phone-like apps, and far fewer of them, than iPad OS with its increasingly serious productivity ecosystem

I'll preface this review by saying: (1) I strongly prefer Android to iOS as an environment (2) This review may not be entirely "fair" to Samsung, but it's fair to users/would-be buyers I own an iPad Pro already, but there are some significant things that I wanted from this tablet: - Something more "holdable" with a large screen, which you can't get with Apple's 4:3 screen shape - The ability to access and cary files from my "main" computer far more easily than is possible with iOS - The ability to run Termux for Linux access - The ability to use a mouse with my tablet at times on the go, with a *pointer* All of those things meant that I needed an Android tablet. In the past I'd have gone with Huawei but now they're not a good bet due to all the geopolitical intrigue and software limitations. I didn't pick up the Tab A because it doesn't have a light sensor (no screen auto-brightness) or a full S6 because the price was just too high. So the S6 Lite seemed like the right bet

 This is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. As the name suggests, it's a less powerful version of the previously released Galaxy Tab S6, and indeed, this tablet here costs $350, and the styler you see is included. Hi guys, my name is Lily with PhoneArena, and the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite does kind of look like a smaller version of the iPad Pro, but it's obviously much cheaper.  The Tab S6 Lite has the benefit of being more portable than the base iPad, so it's the better choice if you want that small form factor. It also comes with its own excellent stylus in the box, so that's a cover with one payment of $350. And the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes with 64GB of internal storage, which you can further expand with a microSD card. In contrast, the $330 iPad has just half of that, 32GB of memory
