So as I got better, I moved to a lighter paddle because I get a little better touch

 Hey folks, Pickleball Library here. I'm here with a local celebrity in Kansas City area,

 one of my heroes in Pickleball, 5-0 player. Yes. Maybe like a Z-list celebrity around here,

 but I'll take it. Anyway, Aaron's going to talk about the summer reading program in one of his

 favorite books. Yeah, yeah. My favorite book is Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy. I've read it many,

 many times and I read it during kind of a tougher time in my life and I've always kind of liked the

 way Tony Dungy presents himself as a coach and, you know, so I read that book and I was just really

 kind of blown away on how he handled like difficult things in his life, you know, including like

 losing a coaching job and then the team won the Super Bowl the next year that he used to coach

 and he lost his son a couple years later and just kind of blown away by his grace and just kind of

 his common sense and just kind of his spirituality. So that was a really important book for me to read

 and I highly recommend it. Wow, excellent. And hey, what's your paddle of choice? I'm old school. Z5,

 about a 7.8 graphite. You know, other paddles are more powerful, but I'm not mature enough to

 handle that power, so with great power comes great responsibility. I don't have it, so I got to stick

 with this. And I gotta say, the Z5 is a paddle a lot of people actually started with. Yeah,

 What I’m disappointed in: the top of the handle has already begun slipping down and I’ve had to re-wrap it. I haven’t had it for very long (a few months) and play 2x a week so for the price this is for sure a let down. It already shows a lot of marks. I’ve seen older, more frequently used paddles look way less ‘beat up’

 Not a huge deal obv but I would rather it sounded/reacted in the norm. I would not get this paddle again but instead will try a different brand (next time) in hopes to have one that holds up better, and is less loud.

Great first paddle…but

 I mean, I guess if you want more grip, that grip tape, I don't really have, it's never flown out of my hands. Because you're always taught you're not supposed to hold the handle real tight, or you kind of lose. No, you kind of want to finesse, otherwise you'll over grip it and then you get tendonitis in your arm. See, I do know things

 I've had this one for a year and it's been fine. This is one thing, somebody said I didn't like the slippery handle. It feels like if you start sweating, it might get a little slippery. It's coated, it's got a grip to it

 A year, and it's held up pretty well. It's held up just fine. All right, so this paddle has a Nomex. Some don't

 Yeah, I mean, if you're obviously a high competitive person, you're probably going to buy more of a high end paddle. They could be $150, $200 for a paddle. This is kind of in between, it's not a beginner, but it's not an expert paddle. And it's very durable
