I have a FX-8350 (yes from 2013) a Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti and 32 GB of DDR3 RAM. I'm obviously not running on the highest settings, but Boneworks, Alyx, Walking Dead S&S, and everything else I haved played run just fine still look beautiful and amazing. Your specs should be able to run Index with games quoted.

I’m in deep contemplation of getting an index, but am curious what my experience would be like with my current pc.

I'm hoping to run Morrowind with the Morrowind Overhaul, Oblivion with some graphical mods(on my current laptop it drops frames when magic is cast because of the particle effects and i have to play it on low res to make it playable), Fallout new Vegas with some graphical mods (if possible), the elder scrolls online (i've heard it's not very demanding).

I'd like to play at 60fps, newer games on low to medium but i won't focus on newer games too much

Looking to buy a gaming laptop $400-500

 Oh and guess what, I actually get to give one of these systems away to you guys, so stay tuned till the end of the video and I'll tell you how you can win. So that's the PC, but what about the GTX 1660 Ti, is it really the perfect 1080p graphics card? Well you can get it from around £260 which is about £80 less than the RTX 2060. The Ti is also the slightly more powerful version of the 1660 which I also have here and I'll be comparing it against. So these cards are being positioned as a slightly more affordable alternative to the 2060

4a and a DVI connector. So no USB-C virtual link like its bigger RTX brothers though. All right so let's get into some games and this is the average frame rate from both the 1660 and the 1660 Ti at 1080p with ultra settings across all the games. The Ti version is on average 13% faster at full HD and is giving me 120 fps in PUBG, 107 in Apex and in fact Battlefield 5 is the only one not to break triple digits

 The Ti is also the slightly more powerful version of the 1660 which I also have here and I'll be comparing it against. So these cards are being positioned as a slightly more affordable alternative to the 2060. It's still based on the latest Turing architecture but without the Tensor cores or the RT cores. But we do get some Turing benefits including Variable Rate Shading or VRS which allows different parts of the image to be rendered at different quality levels to improve performance

 It uses a single eight pin power connector, requires 120 watts of power which is 40 watts less than the 2060 and in terms of IO on this model we get a HDMI 2.0b, a DisplayPort 1.4a and a DVI connector. So no USB-C virtual link like its bigger RTX brothers though

I think the game looks really good with these settings and it still manages to perform really well with the gtx 1660 ti so where the heck is roach roach come over. Here boy, we are in saint tony, which is one of the most intensive cities in this game and yeah the fps are dropping down into the low 40s. At times you could lower the settings and get 60 fps no problem but yeah

 Now the 1660 ti released two years ago in february of 2019. Yes, it has been two years already what the heck it has six gigabytes of vram, which is still pretty decent and it came in at 279 dollars. I actually bought this one for 270 euros, but enough about prices, because you just you can't buy cards these days. Why am i even reviewing this now? It might still help somebody and it gives us an idea on how this gpu performs, but, okay, let's just install this in the system and see what it can do in heavenly 2021

GTX 1660 Ti | How Does it Perform in 2021?

 So anywhere you see 1070 performance for the most part. With few exceptions, you could just say that's where this would fall to so, if you're looking at older charts - and you see a 1070 in a game that you want to play, that's where the 1660 ti would be, and hopefully that helps you make a decision on Purchasing so this card $ 280 seems about right for NVIDIA did well it's interesting, because the 2080 was really not well received for its price position. We we more or less condemned it and said, buy anything. I was like the 1080 TI at the time which no longer exists

 It should be a really no problem, so yeah just keep an eye on the prices for Vega 56. It'S what its gon na come down to. If you like tuning stuff 56, is a good choice and if you like the lower power target, lower power consumption, I should say, and the competitive performance overall. This is a good choice, but 56 does outperform it in a few games and sometimes noteworthy ways so you'll just have to look game the game and and then check the prices online, because I don't know what those are today

 Support and RT core is in favor of a lower price. The EVGA gtx 1660 TI that we're reviewing today, the XC model should have a list price of a $ 280 sticking it between the $ 350 base line of the RT x 2060 and the rough $ 200 price point of modern gtx 1060 s, although sometimes that's Higher for further reference at vega, 56, now sells closer to $ 280 to 300, with RX 590 is still around the $ 260 range today, we're looking at the 1660 TI XC model and we'll have a teardown up separately. **GPU** As for the GPU, I went with a 3-fan, 2-slot RTX 3060 Ti from EVGA. This case supports even larger 3-slot cards, but I wasn't looking to break the bank on anything fancier than a 3060 Ti. There are 2-fan variants available, but considering I had the space for some extra cooling and I'm hoping this thing runs quietly, I decided to upgrade to a mid-range 3-fan card.
