AMD RX 580 ~£150 (a little over my budget). Nvidia GTX 1660 ~£250 (miles over my budget but willing to wait an extra 10 weeks if it is absolutely worth it). I'm leaning towards the GTX 970 as it is cheapest and my dad (was self employed in the pc industry with both software and hardware for 15 years) says it's still a very good card. Obviously cards like the RTX 3090 are out of the question but I'm looking for something at most under £200.
Can this list get any more optimized or cheaper?
Drop the 1TB SSD for 500gigs and get a cheaper case. Super slash the budget? If you're 1080 gaming or mostly playing stuff like CS/Overwatch/Valorant/Indie games etc vs looking to max ultra setting Cyber Punk when it comes out then a Radeon RX 580 for $160ish now, upgrade later.

Finally able to complete by build. 3090fe/5950x/O11 mini (full specs in comment)
Heck yeah! Team AMD all the way (we still have mad love for the Intel lovers, though). The build we use is an 8-core Ryzen 7 with an 8GB Radeon RX 580 graphics card, water cooling, and an M.2 drive. I think we only have like 24 GB of additional RAM in it, but it's a fairly powerful build.
13 year old wants to build a gaming computer
Also, yes, this does seem a bit overkill for a 13 y/o. I would probably go with a Ryzen 5 3600 or something, and probably a cheap B450 motherboard. You can usually get them for around $60-70 and they get the job done quite well. At the most I would go with 16GB of ram, (I'm still running 8 and it works fine) and probably a GTX 10 or 16 series GPU, maybe a Radeon RX 580.

I used to be able to play pugb and it ran decently but that was 2 years ago, now I tried playing fortnite and the game does not run smoothly, theres lag and texture pop in and its delayed and the fps drops and cod warzone is unplayable. My cpu is an intel i5 7400 and my gpu is a amd rx 580 4gb and i have 16 gb ram, i know its not that good but it should run fortnite at least.
