I haven't played the Fender mustang mini, but I will vouch for the NUX mighty plug. It's USB rechargeable, has 7 amp presets (4 guitar, 3 bass) and you can download an app (Mighty Amp) to your phone to change each preset via Bluetooth. If you have an android phone or tablet, then download *Mightier Amp*, an unofficial app that does all the above and also allows you to save  and load your presets.

So im planning on buying one of the Vox Amplug 2 mini amps to play with headphones, but i dont know which version I should go for. The music I like to play for the most part is from The Strokes, AM and RHCP, my guitar is an epiphone sg 310 which I know is not even close to being the type used by these bands lol, but its the one I have. 

Which one should i go for? I would think it would have to be one from the Clean, AC30, Classic Rock,

[GEAR] Learning to play but need to be quieter? Cheap method to play the guitar via my PC/Headphones?

 I said clean on the 1.5 was not laser, on the 2.2 it is. Clean sounds incredibly natural, and you can use more gain before clipping occurs

 Well using chorus with clean would sound great, huh? Well the Chorus effect is not working. I tried to turn on CE1 with clean and distorted amps and no difference was made. The stereo chorus is also gone. The Optima acoustic amp is gone

 So uh, that's why I'm not wearing headphones. Let's go ahead and open up the Mighty Editor here. Now, this editor does work on a Pc, Mac, or on your phone, both Android and Apple. [Music] Uh, let's drag this mod block after the effects and in front of the amplifier here

 I'm also using Emgs, which are pretty high output, but I don't think that should be a consideration since a lot of guitars out there in the wild have Emgs, and if you're not used to dialing in something where the tone stack is synergistic and all the knobs affect each other or that just sounds like too much of a hassle for you, then you might want to steer away from this. However, my big issue with the Mighty Plug Pro is that you can't connect to bluetooth earbuds, and I know this seems small, but I know from previous reviews of similar products that this was a big irritation for other people as well. And here's the thing. there is: bluetooth support

 Not only does the Mighty Plug Pro connect to your phone via Bluetooth, but your phone can actually stream audio from Spotify or your preferred streaming service back to the Mighty Plug Pro. and you have all sorts of controls like Eq and volume that can customize the playback and practicing experience. So why not support bluetooth earbud connections? So all in all, I think it's an awesome product for the money and I fully plan on taking this thing with me for the impromptu jam session on my next vacation. Alright, if you guys like this video, do the things

 It's slightly warm, and the Sylvania tube is a massive upgrade from the stock one. The Schiit SYS determines which amp serves as the preamp for the Koss energizer and acts as a volume control.

I've finally got my amp stack in a clean looking state. 

The DAC is a Schiit Gungnir D-S (I know, I know but I like how it sounds).  Currently it's not sitting under the stack due to not having a long enough RCA to go to my stereo system so it's awkwardly sitting on my cocktail table until that comes in. 

The amps are an Elekit TU-882 with GE tubes and a Schiit Vali 2 with a Sylvania 'black plate' tube.  The amp is selected using the Bereford switch.  

The Elekit is 200mw and has only 1 gain setting which is basically KILL.  As such I have to use my IFI IEMATCH for most cans.  Since it's an OTC amp it has no issue whatsoever pairing with low impedance cans as output impedance is 2-3ohms.  There are 3 impedance settings for the transformer so it's an extremely flexible amp.  Has excellent bass definition and is bass and low treble forward. 

The Vali 2 isn't an amp I like very much to be honest, *except as a preamp*.  As a main amp it's cleaner than the Elekit and smoother sounding, but I just find myself always plugging into the Elekit.  It's slightly warm, and the Sylvania tube is a massive upgrade from the stock one. 

The Schiit SYS determines which amp serves as the preamp for the Koss energizer and acts as a volume control.  Personally I find the Koss to sound far better with a tube preamp.  The Elekit is more bassy and low-treble forward and 'raw'.  The Vali is very relaxed, clean, and slightly warm with the Sylvania. Which one I prefer depends on my mood.

Next step is to add a SS amp (looking at the Geshelli Archel 2.5 Pro) and get the DAC under the stack, which will require a BNC converter since USB doesn't like to travel long distances.

Amp stack finally coming together

 That's the beauty of the Vali 2! It is more than compatible with other tubes on the market. The bottomline for me is the clarity and sound quality of this amplifier. You lose some of the signal from a solid state preamp, to the receiver, and finally to your headphones. This has historically, for me at least, resulted in a muddy/stuffy output

 The fact that you can tube roll with this amplifier is a huge plus. The stock tube that comes with the amp does the job, but I have already ordered an ECC88 to swap it out with. That's the beauty of the Vali 2! It is more than compatible with other tubes on the market. The bottomline for me is the clarity and sound quality of this amplifier
