If you shoot mostly at a wide angle setting, and you're craving for more aperture, this lens is for you. Even more so if you're a crop-sensor person (this lens is crop-sensor specific) and you're not planning to go full-frame anytime soon. Also consider some possible inconveniences of the lens before purchasing it, like the fact that is not small, and is not lightweight.

I do have to crop at times to get rid of the cluttered background but with the D600 camera, I have enough megapixel details to crop my pictures when needed. The build quality is also excellent, feeling very solid and well-constructed. The only downside is that it is a bit on the heavy side, but that is to be expected with a lens of this caliber. The biggest negative (for me at least) is that it's SUPER LARGE.

In the end, if you're thinking about getting this lens, the only question on your mind should be "is 35mm long enough for me?" As far as anything else in the equation, Sigma has you covered better than anyone else. If 35mm is long enough, there's no reason to hold off on this lens. If not, go out and get this lens and a 50mm prime! ;) PS: I'd HIGHLY recommend getting the Sigma USB Dock with this lens, at only $60 extra. All zooms are known to be a bit off on focus on one end or the other to varying extents
