Nexstand Laptop Stand vs Rain Design mStand

I tried both the Roost and the Nexstand and ended up keeping the Nexstand for one reason: the angle works better with my Google Pixelbook Go. My Pixelbook screen only goes back so far and the Roost puts it at such a steep angle that the screen looks like it's tilted down slightly on the highest setting. When trialing it, I kept automatically trying to push my screen back further, which didn't work, because it was already open as far as it could go. I believe a read another review from someone with a MacBook that had the same problem

However, the tablet version is awful. The plastic assembly to hold your tablet in place is paper-thin, and looks like something you'd receive as a consolation prize after losing a raffle. The thin plastic sticks look like some sort of novelty party favor. However, the worst part is that the plastic isn't brushed/buffed/polished in any way, which means sharp corners galore

Still waiting on the Roost to arrive, so I cannot compare at tis time. Initial impressions of the Nextstand: + the base of my laptop on the screen side is raised 11 inches at the highest setting + this helps- having my screen elevated makes a big difference in neck comfort + it is portable- the sand isn't tiny, but it is lightweight and the stand folds down compact enough to fit in a backpack for sure. I would have no problem bringing it on a plane, etc. + the build quality is acceptable so far

I needed something that was going to elevate the tablet up so that it sat next to the Macbook while it was on the stand. This stand does not accomplish this, as it sits about 4 inches too low to match the height of the computer when both are on stands. If you just need a tablet stand, then this little guy should do the trick nicely; but if you're looking for something a little taller for use in conjunction with the Rain Design Macbook stand, I would recommend that you look for something else.

The fact that it is adjustable means that it can ensure your laptop is at level with your eye on almost any table height. Also, it can fit almost any laptop size, my laptop is quite heavy and is about 15 inches (roughly 40-45 cm) in width and it fits snug on the stand. 2) Durability:- This is where I cannot give a guarantee as I've only had it for 3 weeks, but given the price and the materials used in making it, I would be surprised if it lasted for more than a year or two xD, but that's the whole point! 5” from the desk surface to the laptop hinge, but I wish it had a higher setting. I’m 5’10” and my eye level is at the top edge of the screen at this position, and a higher setting would be more ergonomic.

The top enclosure does not slide down enough to embrace and secure the iPad. And with the height fully extended, the iPad in landscape does not align with a MacBook on an mstand. If they release an updated version or Apple enable portrait mode for sidecar then I would reconsider purchasing this. Until then I opted for the Kabcon (awaiting delivery)
