I ended up ditching my nexar cam just for this reason. It was a great camera, but it would drain my battery even when I was not in my truck because it would constantly connect to my phone.

 The sticky mount option is available on Nexar's website so if you drive a truck or RV or your vehicle sports a flat windshield then the sticky mount would work better than the suction cup mount. The mount for the IR camera is a sticky mount so it will be more of a permanent setup. Just peel the backing of the 3M tape and stick it on your windshield. Again the IR camera is designed to record the interior of your car so the camera needs to face inside the car

 These are definitely fun features but like we said they're only available on iOS right now. Now the Nexar Pro does have a parking mode recording feature but unlike the other dashcams that we're used to you don't need a hardwiring kit in order to enable parking mode on the Nexar Pro. And that's because there's a small built-in battery in the dashcam that allows it to detect both motion and impact and record a 10 to 30 second video clip. The Nexar app will also notify you if there were any incidents that triggered parking mode recording once you're back in the car

 A suction cup mount and a 3M adhesive mount. Now the mount that you're going to get with your Nexar Pro when you purchase from Black Box My Car is the 2021 version and it comes with a GPS embedded suction cup mount.  One thing to keep in mind Nexar's parking mode is ignition based which means the dashcam will go into parking mode once it detects a break in the power supply. With that said if you have a constant 12 volt socket in your car for example it's always on then the dashcam will not go into parking mode and it will drain your car battery. And do note that there is no option within the app to configure how sensitive you want the G sensor to be. This is very different from Thinkware and other dashcams where you can select how parking recording is done, customize the sensitivity level of the sensors, and even enable or disable parking recording

And that's if you're pulling it natively from the SD card. Now if you're pulling it from the cloud, you're going to get 720p, so from 1080 it's going to be scaled down to 720p

 And then when you go back to the car, you can pull that video, I'm not sure. But again, that's to be tested. And the video quality, again, even though it's not the best, I won't say it's a necessary con or pro, but it is better than most other cheap cameras. And I'd say this is a cheap camera, but it's not bad quality

 The only condition where you will see quality degradation is when the sun is directly reaching the lens but even in that condition the A129 Pro Duos is doing well. With 4K the amount of details visible is much higher than 1080p and also thanks to the high bitrate you will need an SD card which is as large as possible and make sure to get something decent so that it wouldn't fail too soon. Thanks to the rather narrow optics there aren't too many distortions and this is less annoying than on cheaper dash cams. On the first sight the low light footage seemed a little overexposed to me, something which is also the case with my primary dash camera, the BlackVue DR900S but reviewing the files on the PC makes me feel comfortable because despite the poor lighting and the 4K sensor, the camera retains very good amount of details even when it is complete darkness

 And if you're worried about safety when you're not around the car and the dash cam being too attractive for robbers, you can easily unmount and take it with you. But that counts only for the front module. And also if positioned properly, you could use the rear module and its live feed on the display as parking surveillance.  Some people have the hard wired kit and say they can look through the dashcam when the car is off, but I can't confirm/deny that because I do not have the hardwire kit. I will take a battery pack with me and use it whenever I park in the city if I want to be extra cautious.  Audio: Worth a mention, the microphone used in this product is pretty good. It picks up the higher notes of music, so if you have a bass heavy sound system, you are still able to hear, and wont get drowned out by the bass

 The rear dashcam is unfortunately 1920 by 1080p, and does not have the best bitrate in my opinion. This is probably to save space on the card, but for $250, you have to cut corners somewhere.  I will section off this review by going over the front and rear dashcams, but let me start off by saying I have 5% tint all around, and 70% tint in the front windshield. Also, Ive driven for about 90 minutes of footage now and I have used up 40GB worth of footage

 I run my dashcam on the highest resolution on both cameras, and the highest bitrate on both cameras, sectioned off into 1 minute clips, both front in rear. The dashcam sections these off into numbers, for example: "20200818_101037R". These break down into the following: 2020 - year, 08 - month. 18 - day, _ - separates the day with the exact time, 10- military hours, 10 - 10 mins, 37 - 37 seconds into the minute, R/F - Rear camera and Front camera respectively

  I will section off this review by going over the front and rear dashcams, but let me start off by saying I have 5% tint all around, and 70% tint in the front windshield. Also, Ive driven for about 90 minutes of footage now and I have used up 40GB worth of footage. You will have to check your car for the right size fuse taps

 When installing take a black sharpie or some kind of marker and under the red plastic that you peel off to stick the cameras on the windshields you will see a white strip, color this black first, lest you have a white line you will clearly see through your window. This strip is there to make peeling off the red plastic easy its not sticky where its white. You can guess how I know this.  Next tip you will need to buy more stuff or will want to

 When trying to keep the dash cam up and out of my view, the only good spot I could mount the camera also happened to be right behind my rear view mirror. While this doesn't completely limit my ability to adjust the rear view mirror, if the unit were 1-2mm thinner then it would be a non-issue. Small complaint for an otherwise great dash cam for the price.

Great little set, but could be a bit bulky for your car.
