Great product, saves me time and headache!

 It comes with the standard little USB cable which is interchangeable with any other you might have, but this one has a little nearly gone and also comes with a spare ink cartridge. These are a standard cartridge type known as D1 then not manufactured or sold on you, but any you find should be compatible. although Neo does have a list of recommended ones from specific manufacturers which you can find our website. The pen needs charging when it arrives and the red light here indicates that is charging

 We essentially bought this as an alternative to a graphics tablet, which we may still get in future Anyway, their pen arrives in a sleek, minimal box, definitely taking some cues from Apple in terms of presentation. The form factor of the pen is totaling like an orb, and most of the other options out there are definitely on the chunkier side, so it's great to feel as it does. Their build quality and design is very good. It's a nice object in and of itself and doesn't look or feel particularly like something digital

I love TWSBIs the most but the first FP I ever bought was a Platinum Plaisir, because I read that it'll still write even if you leave it neglected for weeks to months. It's been my experience that this is true, and I've never had any stop/start issues with them, even in long writing. They write a bit dry, but don't stop on me, and they make a nice fine line. Am not a fan of the Pilot G2. Too thick for my liking with too much spillage if that makes sense. I realize these are roller balls, but thought my taste in these might give y’all some guidance. Currently leaning towards the TWSBI Eco in extra fine or fine.

Subaru of fountain pens?

Hello. I have been using my starter pens for about a year now. Twsbi 580, Lamy Al-Star and Platinum Plaisir. I love how smooth the Lamy writes but it does feel a little big in my hand (not a deal breaker)The Plaisir is a good size and weight but the nib doesn’t seem quite as smooth as the Lamy (both are fine nibs)

ETA, by entry level luxury, I just mean I don’t want to exceed $300. So the best pen I can get in that price range before I decide if I want to spend even more.

I always recommend Lamy for their solid build quality and bc. their cartridges/converters/inks are easy to get where I live, but sadly the QC on their nibs has gone down recently in terms of how fine/consistent they write, so the line width might not be as promised. That said I still think that a Lamy can be a good beginner option, especially because almost all their nibs are interchangeable. (And the ABS plastic on the safari pens can stand a lot of abuse

I've made sure to try to look at brands that aren't just the traditional ones recommended to starters (Pilot, and Lamy, etc.). But it would be nice to know what fountain pen brands have flaws that would make them bad for a beginner (or anyone in general). I have heard of some brands having quality control issues, so anymore information similar to that would be very helpful.

What pen brands would you, and wouldn't recommend to a beginner?

 The grip section, though, is the same plastic as a Preppy and is comfortable to hold. If you like the Preppy and don't want to use it as an eyedropper, this will give you the same pen hopefully without the danger of plastic cracking.

5, so if your not as sensitive to writing you probably won't notice it.  Oh, This pen does not take International size ink cartridge, at least not the one Monteverde makes. Even though I post the question to vendor and they told me it will take international size cartridge. I bought a few different color ink with International size cartridge only to find out that the opening is too small and it won't fit in this pen, I was disappointed, hence only 4 stars

1 - Plaisir 1)  Nib: Both are Japanese stainless steel nib, however, the metropolitan fine is actually finer than the Plaisir fine. Why? I don't know. Therefore, I can't definitively say one write smoother than the other because of the size difference. The nib on metropolitan is slightly longer and wider than the Plaisir

 (Metro 1 - Plaisir 0)  Weight: The metropolitan is heavier, especially the cap, therefore when posting (i.e. placing the cap on the end of the pen) the metropolitan feel very off balance. The Plaisir is lighter, therefore easy to grip and write with posted, or unposted

I really like this pen! The ink flow is wonderful. The reason why it is getting a 4 star and not 5, may be subjective, but the pen is a bit light in feeling for me.
