Great product, saves me time and headache!

 It comes with the standard little USB cable which is interchangeable with any other you might have, but this one has a little nearly gone and also comes with a spare ink cartridge. These are a standard cartridge type known as D1 then not manufactured or sold on you, but any you find should be compatible. although Neo does have a list of recommended ones from specific manufacturers which you can find our website. The pen needs charging when it arrives and the red light here indicates that is charging

 We essentially bought this as an alternative to a graphics tablet, which we may still get in future Anyway, their pen arrives in a sleek, minimal box, definitely taking some cues from Apple in terms of presentation. The form factor of the pen is totaling like an orb, and most of the other options out there are definitely on the chunkier side, so it's great to feel as it does. Their build quality and design is very good. It's a nice object in and of itself and doesn't look or feel particularly like something digital

I love the thinness of my Lamy CP1, but it's a bit heavy even at just 17g. I love the look of it posted, but it throws my handwriting off because of the extra weight on the end. My Lamy Joy and Safari are super light at about 11g each (I bought them for this reason) but the shafts are still quite thick; even with the ergonomic grip they aren't super comfortable for pages of writing. 

- Ink: I'd go with a good affordable (classic Pelikan 4001 or Parker Quink) for 5/7 euros

Now, 6 years later, I really enjoy the idea of fountain pen writing in school. I have read some reviews and looked at some websites. I really like the Kaweco Collection Special Red, but its 80€ and I believe for a "first" that is a bit expensive since I don't actually know if I will continue to use it often.

Do you have any recommendations for fountain pens for about 50€? I don't want to have a piston filler, because I believe it could be inconvenient when using all day in school.

I don't know much about inks, but I would like to have the possibility to use different colors e.g. red, blue, green and black.

Budget fountain pen for a "beginner".

  Now to get more critical here. The first thing I notice was that the tines of the nib were slightly misaligned, which for me wasn't too much of an issue to fix but a little disappointing. Using the cartridge converter, something I noticed was that it hit against the inside of the barrel when slightly tapping the pen against my palm when testing for this exact issue. It's hard to notice most times but it didn't give me the best impression and made the pen feel cheaper with loose parts

 But when I read the comments it seemed like everyone else had a converter included. So I went with this seller rather than one of the other cp1 offerings on Amazon. Sadly, no converter. Maybe it was just me?  Otherwise a great pen if you like this style and manufacturer

  My major gripes are: The plastic grip section is a little short, and your hand will sit on the ridge where the metal housing meets the plastic. The nib is scratchy, The nib can probably be tuned or replaced. I am going to attempt to fix this with sandpaper. I am not sure what to expect in this price range, but my $2

I love Lamy fountain pens because the price performance ratio is so excellent. They are one of the few companies who still make a great range of Extra Fine nibs for their pens, and that is the perfect writing instrument imho. I began many years ago with their lower end products.
