New travel backpack from Mountain Hardware
The design reminds me of Black Diamond's Transit series packs (the Creek Transit, Creek Mandate, and Street Creek), except that BD's packs are smaller (20-32 liters). I'm also reminded of the Mystery Ranch Tower 47, which wasn't designed for travel (and doesn't have a laptop compartment) but is a \*much\* better pack. If I wanted a travel pack I needed to check, the Tower 47 would be on my short list.

Does NOT fit 17 inch laptop (or my 15.6 inch laptop)
One of the reasons I chose this specific pack was because it specifically states it will fit a 17 inch laptop. I have a 15.6 inch HP notebook, but, it does have a slightly larger bezel on it, so, I am often concerned about it fitting in 'standard 15 inch laptop compartments. I assumed that it should...

Carry-on

Mystery Ranch Tower 47
definitely worth it
Haven't found anything I don't like about the pack, except that I am skinny so the straps are kind of long lol. I've taken it on 3-4 climbing trips now. I love the webbing straps which can secure a stick clip really well, the side handle while I'm at the air port, the top pocket, all the pocket stas...

Best All-Purpose Backpack
Perfect size for travel and airplane carry on too. I was looking for a lightweight backpack that has a decent amount of volume, cushion/carrying comfort, organization pockets and laptop storage. I own two other Osprey backpacks - Kyte 46L for backpacking and Daylite for everyday use. I was consideri...

Great for airline carry on for weekend or business travel
My 15" Macbook Pro fits like a glove in the laptop section and I still have my snap on case on the computer. I can also fit my kindle, work papers, and then all of my carry on electronic cords and medicine etc... I havent added a few sets of clothes but I think I can fit that in there too for a week...

Hiking

Mystery Ranch Tower 47
Packs great!
I bought this because my old pack was a bomb pack I had for 15 years. This feels exactly the same but lighter. The obvious upgrade/advantage is this pack is perfectly thought out to be a climbing specific pack. I put it through a very long and steep approach today and it performed beautifully.

If you were to only get one all-purpose backpack, this is it.
So far, I really like this backpack. I use it for short trips and commute (I own the tempest 20 for hiking and the Fairview 40 for long trips). The laptop pocket is super useful and I love the little stash pocket for smaller things in the front. The front mesh pocket has a small lip to prevent thing...

Comfort

Mystery Ranch Tower 47
Best comfort, organization and build quality
I’m pleasantly shocked with my new forever climbing pack! Surprisingly, there are not many reviews to be found about this amazing pack; however, after much research (with a fine toothed comb), I narrowed down my search to this ultimate climbing mule pack / haul bag / crag pack (and more?) -

Comfortable, High Quality, and Versatile
I have been an Osprey fan since I bought a daypack to take to college with me 8 years ago. I still have that pack, but it is certainly starting to look like an 8 year old, well loved backpack so I decided it was time for an upgrade. I knew I wanted another Osprey pack, and when I found the Nova on t...

Mystery Ranch Tower 47
Phenomenal layout and features!
Love the layout and features. All the internal pockets and gear loops make for easily organizing my climbing gear. Top load and side load option is great. The heavy duty zippers and 1000D Cordura should last for years to come.

It is almost perfect BUT
I couldn't wait to get this backpack. All black, no funny colors (I'm particular). When I opened it and started moving stuff from my other backpack (also a Nova but the previous incarnation) I was so excited to see the well-placed compression straps and admired the slim profile that still held the s...
