If this conformed to carry-on size limits, you can be sure they'd say that, and loudly. They don't. As others have said, given the proportions it's almost certainly taller than the rules allow -- perhaps by as much as 5-7 cm.

It looks really big but just doesn’t pack very well for my needs. It is comfortable on my shoulders and has the expected quality of osprey, it just kinda falls in how it packs.

I spent two years searching for something as comfortable and spacious as a hiking backpack but wasn't willing to get a typical one because the material most likely wouldn't hold up. Finally after repeatedly coming back and looking at Mystery Ranch they released this.

I wish the hip belt were a little thicker to offer more back support like their hiking backpack series—having said that, it has way better support than most other packs. There are two mesh water bottle pockets on either side of the pack. It can be difficult to take your bottle in and out repeatedly due to the compression straps, though normally, it isn’t a big deal. Overall though, I’d recommend this as an all-around good backpack

The Pop-up 28 might be the ultimate SAR pack because of it's durability, flexibility, and comfort.

You have to take care not to put the bag down on pavement or lean against a brick wall or even overfill that pocket.

The pack is unable to stay tight to the frame. The biggest annoyance with this is that you CANNOT access anything in the pack without loosening up multiple side straps. If Mystery Ranch would simply make points of contact to keep the back of the bag itself attached to the frame independently of the compression straps this bag would be untouchable! But since you can't secure it to the frame it's hard to get the load to distribute as it should on your body. I really really really want to like this pack but I'll most likely just sell if after this season

I bought this for trips of a few days in length (less than a week) and found that if you are having to carry anything heavy (books, laptop, liquids, paperwork, anything dense), the straps (shoulder, chest and hip) cannot bear the weight. The entire pack sticks out (kind of like a big square box) so far from your body that, when heavy, practically makes you fall over. The weight is not distributed enough across the body, especially for the flimsy hip belt (basically just an extra 1" strap with a buckle; no real support). Great for storing things, but not if you actually plan to wear it as a backpack and walk around with it

The options for adjustments are perfect allowing me to get a great fit and seated perfectly along my back and shoulders, I hate packs that hang low because that unsettling center of gravity gets tiring after a while. On the other hand it is easy to adjust the straps on the move which is nice because if anyone has ever worn a pack for an extended period of time, then you know how nice it is to loosen, tighten, and switch to sling mode here and there to help free up spots on your back that get too hot over time because even with breathable material like that present on this pack, the bottom line is that there is still weight pushing material along your back and you will still get hot depending on how long you wear the pack. The primary harnesses are thick and comfortable, even when I loaded the pack for weight I didn't feel anything digging into my shoulders. I'm used to seeing red marks on my shoulders with other packs and this comfort is something I'm not used to

I have been using the 2DayAssault for about 60 days straight. My biggest criteria for purchasing this bag was the rear pocket zipper for the laptop. I have a 15" MacBook Pro and it fits easily in the laptop pocket with easy access from rear pocket zipper or through the top. I use the bag daily for work but I have also taken two 4day weekend trips with nothing more than the 2DayAssault

I’m a graphic designer, so I’m always carrying my 17” apple laptop and lots of additional tech/wires/charger etc. Additionally I’m a gamer, so I always carry my controller and my 13” Razer gaming laptop. So I’m able to carry two laptops(!), and a plethora of other things. I wish it had strap retention bands so the excess isn't flopping around. Easy fix for me, I just used some tape. And would be nice if the waist belt was stowable. As far as an EDC bag, if you work outside for a living then yeah, for commuter to work in a city, go with one of their smaller ones like the urban

this is a solid backpack for everyday comuting. It looks professional and is well made. Mine was navy and black on the exterior and a bright blue on the interior. I love the contrast interior
