Were I starting over now I would probably go TP-Link for everything except my router. My router would be OpnSense on hardware I purchased. That being said, my EdgeRouter X has done a fine job for me and since I already had on AP AC Lite I just added another and repositioned the original one as it works fine other than a few spots in the house.

A mikrotik rb4011 might be up your alley if you're fine doing the config. They're extremely reliable, moreso than what's available from manufacturers like Asus and Netgear.

I have been using this new Mikrotik RB4011 for a month now, and it was a much needed upgrade. I have Spectrum 100/10Mbps internet service a my old router did not have the CPU power that this one dose, so no more slow speedtests. I am now seeing consistent higher than advertised results. I have also noticed that pings in online games are lower and website page loads are faster

In the end, I guess it is in fact a router...and it does in fact support pretty high throughput for its $$

Reasonably straightforward to set up. Router does its job well. Definite value for money. Take note that it gets warm, built in heat sink take care of it
