Ease Of Set Up

Awesome little router, Super Easy

Its well worth the money, just wish it was a little more robust in terms of Ram and CPU. Although for normal and slightly advanced home use its adequate. I recommend this router, much easier to set up than the Ubiquiti router I had before.

A performance router for home network

Reasonably straightforward to set up. Router does its job well. Definite value for money. Take note that it gets warm, built in heat sink take care of it

I will likely buy a second MikroTik security gateway as a backup since they are so reasonably priced, and keep it one firmware and OS update behind as a sort of rollback option.

You'll spend hours trying to get this bad boy to work; but if your time is worth more than minimum wage, it'll cost you far more in time than whatever you save by buying this thing instead of a fancy consumer-oriented router. Unless you know the nitty-gritty of networking or enjoy endless menus where you enter random numbers in boxes labeled with random letters to obtain random dialog boxes with error messages interpretable only by Satan, pick something else.

Powerful Home/Small Office Router

I have been using this new Mikrotik RB4011 for a month now, and it was a much needed upgrade. I have Spectrum 100/10Mbps internet service a my old router did not have the CPU power that this one dose, so no more slow speedtests. I am now seeing consistent higher than advertised results. I have also noticed that pings in online games are lower and website page loads are faster

IIRC, I had to turn of SSH on the external interface, filter BOGONs and a coupla other things. No major changes. I think the link I followed was Manito Networks or something like that. Still, this is the best router out there for under ~$150, and it's been rock solid since installing it
