She is much happier with the Lindhaus, notes that it "just cleans better", and has not had to do any work on hers either (she had to replace the belts on her Oreck regularly). Miele vacuums tend to look premium and be very well-built, as well as easy to maintain.

We had this vacuum cleaner for a little over six years, had to replace many parts on it and in the process found that it suffers from a number of engineering and design flaws that resulted in the mentioned repairs. I guess on higher priced models you can get this but again this is where it is confusing to pick out the model you need. Overall I think it was a bit expensive for a vacuum and for not having the powered handle/floor piece (sorry I can't remember what it is called). At this price you would think it is a high end vacuum but for the Miele line I guess it is only mid-range.
