 So let's take a look at it. First of all it's a chrome razor and it's a three-piece razor and the handle which is something that I just like about this razor is not very heavy. I would like a heavier. It feels hollow

 I had moved. I'd put everything into boxes and this is a razor that came out and I just shaved with this and nothing else believe it or not and so it's a three-part razor. It's a very very famous razor this 89 head. Apparently it's similar to the Edwin Jagger DE89

 Terrific slickness and it does it does a great job like I've got no complaints about this razor. It could be stainless steel it could have a different gap it could have a different exposure but honestly does it work and does it irritate you and for me this is like for a beginner this is like I think along with that King Sea Gillette it's kind of like a Goldilocks type of razor for a lot of men. Now is the blade clamped as well as some of the other stainless steel numbers? No no but very little blade feel compared to say that Mercure adjustable one the Progress. It's certainly getting there yeah knocking back a lot more hairs on that second pass now

 have fast growing coarse kind of coarse stubble especially around my chin area and I'm going to

 be reviewing the Mule R89 chrome safety razor. So let's open him up. This is what it looks like.

 Yeah, I happened to put him back into the box because I've had this razor for a number of

 years now and in fact it was my daily driver for well over a year. I used nothing else. I just

 wanted to use one razor. I had moved. I'd put everything into boxes and this is a razor that

 came out and I just shaved with this and nothing else believe it or not and so it's a three-part

 razor. It's a very very famous razor this 89 head. Apparently it's similar to the Edwin Jagger

 DE89. A lot of people say it's exactly the same head. I don't know. I've never tried the Edwin

 Jagger DE89. I don't have it but I have this one and it shaves well. So let's take a look at it.

 First of all it's a chrome razor and it's a three-piece razor and the handle which is

 something that I just like about this razor is not very heavy. I would like a heavier. It feels

 hollow. It doesn't feel very heavy but the knurling on it is absolutely beautiful. It's a stunning

 looking handle for me. That's very elegant. It's simplistic. It has this wavy knurling with this

 more lane embossed into the bottom. What else I like about this is it has these little ridges

 that your fingers can just grip on. It just makes it very easy to grip even when wet.

 It's a short handle so it's easy to maneuver as well. The head itself it's a closed comb head

 and you open it up and it has two round pins and a post and then it has these supporting brackets

 that pinch the blade and big open lather channels for the weep holes that allow lather to escape.

 It's very easy to rinse. It doesn't get clogged and it's just an overall nice looking razor.

 So today I'm going to take a fresh Astra blade and let's put that in. Now

 here's my view on testing razor blades. The razor blade makes a massive difference in your shave.

 Certain blades match certain razors and they don't work well in other combinations. Some people like

 a very aggressive razor with a mild razor blade. Some people like a mild razor blade with an

 aggressive razor. The Astra is kind of for me it's the it's the middle of the road.

 It doesn't retain its edge as well as long as some of the other razors but it's kind of that

 balance between sharpness smoothness and edge retention that I really like. So I've just opened

 it up load it up and I'm twisting to keep it closed. Now it has the tabs of the razor blade

 protrude and so you have to be a little bit careful. I don't find it too sharp but I just

 grab onto the edges and just twist it tight. Now if you don't you don't want to over twist it but

 you don't want to under twist it then it would come loose during shaving and that's ready to go.

 I'm going to be using the Venture by Captain's Choice which I've used before. It's one of my

 favorite soaps. It has terrific slickness and I really enjoy it. Now the reason why I've used

 that this razor blade so much also is because it has sentimental value and I like to I like it

 but I like to show that it's being used. I'm using a synthetic 1092 brush and let's get into the

 shave. Wet the face. Start to hydrate those whiskers. Now the interesting thing about this 1092

 their marketing kind of spiel is that we shave they say men shave for 1092 hours. Venture by

 Captain's Choice. This soap which I've used before has terrific slickness and it smells

 fantastic. It's a cool water aqua de geo oceanic smell and and I think it's amazing. By the way

 full disclosure all my reviews are honest and I get paid for nothing and I've bought every single

 product that you see me review on this channel. I literally buy everything that you see. So

 I don't get paid and I don't do this for a living and just so yeah I mean a lot of there's a lot of

 comments on one of the forums that I'm a member of how all these youtubers are really just sales

 people. They look really good, they're pretty, they have nice setups but yeah they bought some

 of their products and found them to be that they're touting and found them to be terrible. So I've

 just taken the Venture which is a croat between a soft soap and a cream and I just like to
