The Merrell Moab 2 Mid WP scored highly across many of our testing metrics due to their simple, supportive, and comfortable design, available at an affordable price. The fit is suitable for a wide range of foot shapes, however, it particularly favors those with a wider foot, offering a well-padded ankle and tongue which increase overall comfort. The air-cushioned heel made up for the support that the lower ankle shaft denied, and the design provides extra support for the arch of the foot.

Overall, I love the look, feel, and fit and I’m glad I didn’t give up before they broke in properly.

I developed plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis in the last year and have had to find new shoes with arch support and cushioning. These boots are perfect right out of the box! I struggle to find shoes that are comfortable and don’t cause additional foot pain. You can feel the arch support as soon as you put them on. I’ve worn them all day and still no foot pain the next morning

When I added a piece of moleskin, they are now comfortable enough, although I can still feel that edge. I'm continuing to work the seam, and may put on another moleskin patch. The size was exactly right (for me.) They are light and otherwise quite comfortable

I love the fit. I felt like I could hike in them the moment I put them on. Only issue is I feel like the arch support is pretty minimal so we'll see how my foot does on a longer hike. I also need to purchase an insert for it because these shoes are very hard inside

Painfiully tight. I own the Danner Mountain 600 which is possible the most comfortable shoe I've worn of any kind. Trying to repeat this success with any other Danner, even though they share lasts and designs, is impossible. Danner does not make fit consistency through the line a priority

If you’re after a fair-weather boot that stacks up pretty well when the weather turns wet this is the option for you. This is currently my favourite all-round boot, but the Merrell Accentor (which we reviewed) is a very close second. I’m a fickle hiker and no doubt, at some point I’ll switch my allegiance. I haven’t hiked in these yet, but I formerly used the Moab SHOE by Merrell, so I know they produce e a quality product that will last you years. My feet have NEVER hurt after a hike. When my trusty shoes wore out, I knew I wanted to order the boot version next for the ankle support and let me tell you: my ankles are so cozy in these boots! I mainly wanted to elaborate on the sizing. I am a TRUE 7

I got a 12 in this shoe and it was way too big. I returned it and got 11.5. Still too big

The higher ankle support, stable soles, the arch support and the flexibility of the material combine to make it my favorite yardwork, walking and hiking boot.
