Stubbles stubbles stubbles. Yes, tried several new blades, but that didn’t help. I’d suspect either bad design, poor manufacturing or both.

First time using a safety razor after switching up from the three blade. Definitely treats my skin better and I'm enjoying creating less plastic waste.

I had been using the same safety razor I bought from a local barbershop since around 2017, and had grown bored of it, as well as wanting to upgrade in terms of aggressiveness. I ended up buying both the Mühle R89 and Mühle R41. I initially went with the R89, but while it was more aggressive than my previous razor, it didn't feel like that much of a step up.

Use a sharp blade. One of the great advantages of the safety razor shave is that you use one blade at a cost of perhaps 50 cents each so you have no excuse for leaving a dull blade in your razor. I find about 3 shaves is right for me (I do three passes per shave). Also, watch the angle of the razor, 33 degrees to the face

I own the Mühle R89. All the blades that are less sharp than the Personna Super Stainless never gave me a close shave, although they were comfortable. I am a mediterranean guy with harder/black facial hair. The Personna blade was smoother on my skin and had no irritation/pulling on my skin, compared to all the not so sharp blades

I stopped using disposable razors because 1. There a waste of money. 2. They aren't eco - friendly (if you care) 3

This is one of the best closed comb razors available for the price. This razor is somewhat on the light side, but easy to control. The handle has a very nice knurling. Not very deep, but at the same time I have not noticed any loss of grip with soapy hands or oily fingers from using a pre-shave oils like Somersets or Shave Secret

I ordered this as someone new to DE shaving and looking at online review and recommendations. The most commonly recommended/mild razors for people starting out were the Edwin Jagger de89 series (this razor has the exact same head, I believe) and Merkur, with more votes for the EJ. I bought this as I wanted the grippiest handle, so it was either this or the EJ barleycorn (?). Regarding the handle, if my hands are soapy, it is slippery despite the pattern (I suspect that any razor would be with enough soap)
