I was looking at buying a drum barrel smoker when I came across this. I was excited about the ease of use with the temperature controller provided. It was also cheaper and I like the idea and ease of being able to fire it up quickly if I wanted to just make burgers one weekend. The reviews I read were generally quite positive and the only negatives seemed to be the app and those who received damage units

A little disappointed

 There's the fan. And then you'll notice here in just a moment we'll get some smoke start to roll out from the cooking chamber. And this is going to push all the heat into the grill till we reach 250 degrees. What'll happen is that as a variable speed fan and we will get the variation of fan speeds to maintain that 250

 It's just about time and temperature. 250 for 60, 400 for 30. Then you can shut it down and let it cool off. Now the next time you fire up your grill you're gonna need to season it

 So we're gonna hit the thermometer button. We're gonna turn this up to 250. Hit the temperature button. Now you'll notice that the fans did not kick on yet

 It is time to get the grill actually turned on. So we need to open up the air vents. There are these two paddles. Pull these out completely

Have just had this smoker for a few days but I think the following will help others

 The app is very hand (when it works), but it needs some serious development. A buggy app is one thing, but it's appalling that an entire product with so much marketing material focused on the smart connectivity doesn't actually work half the time.  Luckily, this grill has a lot going for it aside from the app/connectivity. It's a beautiful grill, feels very solid, and a pleasure to grill on

  In my first use, I found the following observations: 1. Even after shaking the charcoal grate to shake free any ash, it takes 2x fire starter cubes to really get the fire going. One cube just doesn't cut it. 2

Don't buy this if you expect the app/bluetooth/wifi to work

The set up and build for this grill took around 3-4 hrs to do. Once put together the fun began! It has so many awesome features! The first obvious one is the smoker attached to the grill! Able to cook so much and really learn a lot as well. Love the meat thermometer attachment to make sure your meat is cooked to proper temperature. Able to connect to your smart phone is an awesome plus as well

 I was looking for a grill that not only performs well and looks good but a grill that was rock solid and rust proof. Overall the PK360 is a very stylish mid-sized grill and smoker. Awesome design and build quality which produces great results plus it sparks plenty of interest from those who see it up close in person. This is a grill I'm sure I'll have for years to come

 Before we begin, for all you fellow barbecue geeks out there, let me set the scene with a quick backstory to the evolution of PK grills. In the early 1950s, Hilton Maggs of Tyler, Texas made what many considered to be the perfect charcoal barbecue grill. He designed and manufactured a cast aluminium grill and smoker, calling it the Portable Kitchen, and sold it out of the back of his car in the American Mid-South. The company was purchased from Maggs in 1958 and manufacturing moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, where it remained until fire and business issues stopped production in the mid-1970s

 These are precision injected moulded cast aluminium, finished to a high level and feel reassuringly heavy. Aluminium is not only light and durable, it conducts heat two and a half times more efficiently than cast iron and four times more than steel. This means that heat is distributed more evenly throughout the cooking capsule. I felt no rough edges, just smooth, precision cast aluminium

Just covering design, construction and assembly at this point. I will update the review after I've used the grill for several meals.  The PK360 is beautifully designed and manufactured to a high level of precision. The cast aluminum "clamshells" are quite attractive in their precision and quality of workmanship

 PK claims to have a amazing warranty but there's a reason they don't accept real reviews on their website. Customer service says "we can't control the exposed environment", how about saying we slapped on a really crummy coat of paint or powder coat and don't care what they look like for the customer within a year of use. Super bummed by a US company having such horrible support and QC. Strong avoid on this one
