Mackie Studio Monitor CR4BT vs PreSonus Eris E3.5 BT

I chose these Mackie speakers (w/ the larger 5" drivers) as I've had previous experience with sound reinforcement gear and recognized the brand. These speakers and my Edifier speakers (also purchased from Amazon) are connected via the PCs' 3.5mm audio jack. My opinion: These are large speakers and are in price range where I expected good performance, especially good base performance

I like the size and they can rock out the room too and it's a quality sound. I almost gave them 4 stars for Sound Quality but they are much closer to perfection than 80% and I like to be objective most times but you gotta think of it this way. I really like them and are they the JBL ProLine $1500 each. No but they are pretty nice

Again, I did not wish to give this 3 stars, in fact, my conflicting feelings about it is what kept me from giving it 2 stars. When it works it is phenomenal, the base and the clarity is unique and so gratifying. But, I would like to get them same result without having to have my phone completely stationary and right next to the speaker. I am very disappointing

I'll keep this one short and sweet. I had these monitors for about a year and listen to music on them every so often and have used them on for audio mixes for video editing. I had the chance to A/B these against two other pairs of studio monitors since, as a professional tv/film editor, I had a couple rented pairs loaned to me for a couple projects. Up against the M-Audio BX5s these were my preferred speakers

Bluetooth in the speakers is bad and if your WiFi is in the same room interference will happen. They sound best when connected directly. In the end would not recommend these monitors even though they are great for the price (initially).

I gave it 4 stars because if you hook it up to the Eris Bluetooth speakers, the sub WILL NOT work via Bluetooth even though the speakers will.

After a few months using the replacements the I started to notice a bit of crackling when bass would hit. The crackling got worse over the next few weeks and eventually got to a point that on every bass hit it sounds like the woofer is being violently ripped out. At this point I dont want to have to deal with constantly replacing the product, so I just took it as a lesson learned. The only reason I gave them 2 stars was the customer service experience, but ideally I should never have to contact customer service when I buy a quality product

Nothing to write home about. Bass: Lacking. Good enough for most music genres ,but if you're into electronic , you might feel the bass is lacking. It's there, just not the soft wrapping bass you know sound systems with big speakers or 2
