I have a DTX motherboard (ASUS - ROG-CROSSHAIR-VIII-IMPACT) and have found it difficult to find small form fact cases that will fit the TDX board. After trying three small cases, I decided to move upward in size to the Lian Li Air Mini as it was the first case to take my DTX motherboard and Corsair 280mm AIO comfortably. I bought the vertical mount for the GPU and have plenty of clearance for the NVMe SO-DIMM.2 card which sits proud on the motherboard

 Alright so welcome back, let's start with the things that I like. The form factor. So for simple ATX enclosure, it's only as tall as my Corsair One and slightly wider than your usual mid tower. They have now modified that second chamber at the back to support a full size ATX power supply which is fantastic and that is an upgrade over the previous O11 Dynamic Mini which could only support an SFX unit

 I don't like this color at all. The large rubber grommets are easy to work with but are pretty loose so you will need to align the back in place after routing cables. But the main thing here is the airflow is indeed mini. So check this out

This is the Lian Li O11 Air Mini and it's a totally different enclosure from the previous mini the O11 Dynamic Mini. The promise we are told is to give us the same compact ATX experience but with airflow performance similar to that of the Lanco 2 mesh and that my friend is very exciting

 It seems like they're kind of dirty but from something red. At first I thought it was rust but it could be some painting issue. Next are the PCI screws that were overtightened causing the paint to strip as I removed the screws. The blue power button LED flashes purple for hard drive activity

Lian Li O11 Air MINI Review - Airflow is Optional!

 I thought it could pop back in, but that wasn't the case. It wasn't a big deal for me since I intended to use my own fans, but I could see how this would be a huge issue for someone who needed the included fans. Another oversight in quality control was the different sized motherboard standoffs installed from the factory. Some were much longer than others

 Overall, I am happy with the case as it suits my needs for a small case that can fit on my desk, but I wish it had the quality as the larger Lian-Li case it is replacing.

This case is great if you're looking for a smaller case for a full ATX motherboard with *just* enough room for components, but unfortunately, quality control leaves a lot to be desired. The most egregious is the broken 120mm case fan, where the fan blades completely fell out of their housing. I thought it could pop back in, but that wasn't the case. It wasn't a big deal for me since I intended to use my own fans, but I could see how this would be a huge issue for someone who needed the included fans

Nice compact ATX case, but with QC issues...

 That's not cool. It's risky. You end up with a piece of screw in the case and short something and kill the board or whatever, or you just have to get a new screw, which is inconvenient. So that needs to be fixed, but that's the biggest fit and finish issue we've ever seen out of Lee and Lee, at least in the last year or so

 This case instead uses the ultra-fine mesh approach that a lot of modern cases use where they just use very, well, fine and densely populated holes in a panel and then allow that to filter most of the dust. And that avoids double stacking filters. So this filter is on the front, on the top. It's got some side mesh over here as well, and then there is an actual filter underneath the case

 So there needs to be an improvement there. We think that a lot of this has to do with the height of the legs for the case where since they've brought it down for some reason and scaled down the leg standoff height, maybe to screw with the leader sizing math if they include that in there. But since they brought the case down to be close to the table you lose some of the, actually really close to the table because the presence of the fan and radiator cages and the filter and all the stuff down there, because of that there's a lot of loss of ability to get air in through the bottom of the case efficiently. And that's proven with our task where we moved a fan to the bottom of the case

 It looks about the same from there at least, but the change has been in the porosity or the amount of holes per given area in the front panel and that change, despite not looking too different visually, has had a huge impact on thermal performance. So we're gonna be benchmarking the old panel versus the new one today. The old panel did not ship to customers, but the new one will be and it will be soon. And then we're reviewing the case as it is for everything else we normally do

Massive Improvement: New vs. Old Lian Li O11 Air Mini Case Review

5-inch (~37mm) wooden blocks under the case feet to give my bottom intake fans access to more air. The factory feet are kinda short considering they give you the option to mount fans down there.  One last thing - if you look at reviews of this case from around the time it launched, you'll probably see people complaining about the hard drive cage being riveted in. At some point in early 2022, Lian Li silently made a small revision that changed these rivets to Philips screws

 My initial plan for this was to stuff a 32 core thread ripper in here But then it's like well, I want to do a custom loop and well There's some other options and this does support XL ATX So those extra long motherboards would work in here, especially with the radiator mounted in the front You're just not gonna have super deep cars, but where we're using this for a rosy upgrade Maybe it may be a future build. You've also got this option for the rear plate Which will let you just mount your SFX power supply directly right there. And this is what we're going to use There are also other options So if you want a vibration dampened three and a half inch drive mount That you actually set up in the bottom of the case or in the top of the case. You've also got options for that Now even though this computer is slightly bigger than a lunchbox a little bigger than our old build We will be mounting this in the top Which will give us mount points for our handle So yeah, we can have another handle on this machine in case we need it to be portable strictly speaking Don't need a handle on rosy, but you never know with the top handle set up

I mean, let's let's be real and You know and the GPU so and one of the things that Sliger is known for Is customization so they've really put a lot of thought into how you can customize the case So there's there's a pretty big cutout here over the motherboard This one is the one if you're gonna mount the power supply inside the case somewhere You can mount it vertically where I've got the radiator mounted and you've also got the the punch outs for a custom loop cooler So if you wanted to have your tank and reservoir or even your radiator located somewhere externally You could totally do that with this setup, you know You can have an external rad somewhere if you really wanted to so you could use this bracket for example to mount your SFX power supply internally in the case and then you know You would be able to use your SFX case your SFX power supply completely internally and it comes with the Extension cable to go from there to here depending on where you actually end up mounting your SFX power supply If you want to cram a standard size the ATX power supply you can but since you can get standard SFX power supplies up to you know 750 850 watts That's gonna be enough to cover builds.
