 For a front loader, I would say the LG WM3400CW is the value leader, but the LG WM4000HWA may be worth the extra money for its superior rinsing performance. The most reliable, no nonsense front loader is the Speed Queen FF7, but it costs some bucks.

So we've got a Kenmore top loader impeller/non-agitator high efficiency unit that came with the house, used, with the house we bought about 4.5 years ago.  No real problems except not always happy with the level of cleaning (leaves behind deodorant residue that has to be heavily pre-soaked). 

As of today it's not draining properly.  I know I need to get the casing off the machine to access the pump and there isn't an easy way to do this other than tilting it to access screws (with a tub full of water, awesome), and the laundry room is a little bit tight so accomplishing this is going to be a challenge. 

Have been kicking around the idea of replacing it anyway (due to the aforementioned deodorant cleaning frustration), so I'm contemplating whether I want to screw around with this unit (and **looking for advice / tips on how to access the pump easiest!!??)**   

...or... 

Thoughts on which new unit I should be looking at as a replacement?  Do we have strong opinions on which units are overall best performance/value?  Seems like the Samsung units have decent value but I don't know enough about them.

[Advice/Question] - top load clothes washer, fix pump vs new unit

 The first moment looks like, of course, you want there to be a little bit more water in there, but it didn't make me feel like this was one of the lowest water levels. I'Ve ever seen. I felt like there was a couple of inches at the bottom of the machine and that it was doing a reasonable job of splashing, the water around, but other than that, i guess you know an empty wash, doesn't really tell much of a story. So we'll do some laundry in this thing and then we'll see see how it works out thanks for watching 

First Look: LG WM3400CW Unboxing and taking it Apart!

 I offered to pay a few hundred in a restocking fee, which would have been around 40% of the total price of the washer - nothing. I asked if they had called LG's Dealer Services line, and they admitted they had not, but that based off their experiences dealing with LG in the past, they didn't think LG would work for them here. That's fair and it's totally possible that LG would have stonewalled them, too - but it's also possible that they might not have.

There simply isn't enough water being used which in turn means that more electrical energy is being used via longer or multiple wash times.  I'm finding the best of all the 'settings' is to place it on the TOWEL mode.  I'm also adding an extra POD/soap which is helping.

My concerns and issues are the severe lack of water use and the extensive run-times while the unit attempts to be 'HE' compliant.  I've often had to wash twice for anything actually stained or soiled.

I absolutely hate this machine the spin cycle is awful   It’s loud sounds like a airplane taking off.  Thumping constantly.  Had technical support out and was told to put a towel in with sheets to make it more balanced.  Really!!!!  If I could return it I certainly would

I love the size of the washer.  I can wash my queen comforter at home now instead of going to the laundromat.  It’s nice to be able to wash one load of towels instead of two.

It is hard to judge without a side-by-side comparison, and maybe we over stuffed to old guy whish is why it had some problems, and I could in fact stuff more into the new machine if I wanted

ONLY a First Day review... all is good though.

 So the reason why that's helpful it's gon na be uh better for using the direct drive motor and efficiently using the machine. Also in the gasket too, it's got a nice split, so usually the gasket will overlap this one. You know if you need to clean that out, it's going to be a lot easier than normal. Now you also notice this is downloaded

 So if you connect your smartphone to either one of these units, you can go on, lg's, think app and you can download a cycle and, like you know, it'll say like baby clothes or there's plenty of them, and you can look them all up and throw it On that downloaded cycle and it will run the cycle - that's come from the manufacturer, so although it says that it's got this, many there's about 20 30, more waiting for you on the app as well now moving on to the dryer, the model number is dlex: 4000 Hba also, these both come in white. So you know there's a couple other options that you can get the really cool thing about the dryer is it is a steam dryer, so you have to pay to get that installed, but it is really beneficial, especially um right down. Here. You'Ve got the steam sanitary and the steam fresh cycle, so especially during the current climate with the coronavirus, you know you could be throwing your masks in here
