I just got the LG SP8YA and love it! So worth the buy. I upgraded from a Yamaha ATS 2090 and it's a world of difference.

Stability: not great - it stops responding to voice/remote control about once a month and needs rebooting.

So I read the directions and it said to download the LG wifi speaker app. So I did. When you open it you'll get a message saying they're phasing out this app and to download the LG sound bar app. Which I did, it updated itself and everything worked after that

Then I will use the remote to perform one of those commands, but because the Echo is still trying to respond to the Alexa command, the volume continues to be ducked. So even though I have already used my remote, now I can't hear anything. I have to restart the sound bar on a daily basis because of this problem and it's really frustrating. Also, Polk says that you can change inputs using Alexa commands, but I haven't been able to get that to work

I also wish they would’ve thought of a “night mode. Let’s say I want to mute the microphone on Alexa while watching a movie, the bar will have a circular red light around it for the entire duration the microphone is muted. If the speaker is somewhat close to your tv it will produce some glare. There might be a solution further down the line, the speaker has an app that allows the speaker to receive updates, so hopefully many of the things it lacks may be added over time for in-app use
