I am very pleased with this monitor. The primary value of this monitor is its excellent color accuracy, high refresh rate, and G-sync compatible Free-sync technology which makes it an excellent monitor. Good value Panel with a Few Minor Shortcomings

 I've compared it to my old IPS panel which has a 1073:1 contrast ratio [according to Rtings](https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/asus/mx279hs) (mine is the 25 inch version, but I assume it should be similar), and it is quite noticeable to me especially in dark scenes.

I've owned LG monitors before (specifically an Ultra 4K). I bought this monitor for primarily the specs! I needed 1440p and 144Hz. I have come to realize that a 27" monitor is perfect for me, as 32" and higher tend to be less precise and detailed for this resolution. The brightness is OK, but the color is awesome on this panel

 Thats about it. Its too big, and generally looks ugly. I just dont like it that much, and I feel like it takes up too much room on my desk.

But lemme put it to you this way, having a higher refresh rate isnt like watching something move faster. Its like when it moves, you can see more of it, you see more detail while its moving, and you can keep track of it better

..  Had this in my wishlist for a long time and finally pulled the trigger in order to free up my current gaming monitor for other use. I'm SO glad I did, as 4K on this desktop would have been way overkill and 144Hz refresh rate is far more important to me

I'll list my one minor quibble first: WHO designs an AC adapter that takes up FOUR sockets on a standard US AC Power Strip? Glad I had the room. That said..

 This is a perfect resolution. Stand is excellent, and its attachment mechanism is an inspired design: 100x100 VESA mount screws don't even need to be removed to use it. Joystick function selector is likewise brilliant. Bezel is really almost 'zero'

Great design, sleek, small borders, gonna by a second one to replace my BenQ 4k monitor, and then buy the 32 inch version after that to put in the center for my main gaming monitor.

 The only real things that have been cut away here are the top end of the refresh range 165 hertz versus 180 hertz, the removal of backlight strobing from the feature set and a removal of a usb hub. Basically, everything else here is identical between the 83b and 850 variants. The two key findings were that motion performance and color performance are unchanged for the most part, when opting for the lower cost model response times are just as fast with the gp83b giving you the same. Excellent motion: clarity we've come to expect from lg's current gen ips panels and the reduction to refresh rate is pretty negligible

 Now let's get back to the monitor now. I Started off by looking at the 4k monitor range because I've been putting out videos in the UHD resolution 300 400 by Tu-160 for about 18 months or so now. Now they are quite expensive, but also there isn't really much. Probably buying one because my back Book Pro which is mid 2014 range

I think my videos on a laptop and yes, it's a match, but that's irrelevant for this video. It could just as well be a laptop running Linux or Windows just imagine it's running whatever operating system makes you feel least agitated because this isn't a video about operating systems. No, it's a video about a monitor now. I Edit on a laptop because I value the portability and the fact I can easily pack it away and it means I can edit videos here or here what's going on and once I finished editing everything together I can bring the laptop in here, record the voiceover using this microphone, and then afterwards clear everything away

Going UltraWide with the LG 21:9 Monitor 29UM68

 Within days I had fallen in love with it. I'm using the DP connection to get 75Hz and an amd gpu to utilize freesync and once I started gaming it all made sense fairly quickly. This thing is dirt cheap and lightning fast, I'm not Chuck Norris on CS:Go I don't need an absurd refresh rate or response time on the bleeding edge of technology, I mostly do research for work, watch youtube and play Warframe. The settings for font clarity and refresh rates really only took 5 minutes to figure out and I was rolling

A plucky underdog monitor for the budget conscience

 Will officially never be going back and you can quote me on that. and I'll probably test out other regular monitors, but this is so much more immersive I Don't care if it's lower response time I don't care if it's lower refresh rate I Don't care if it's lower resolution, just the fact that it's such a wide monitor I Feel like when I'm playing a game whether that be warframe Borderlands GTA I am so much more immersed I Feel like I'm much more part of the game and you know it's It's an amazing thing and 21 by 9 I feel is really the way to go. There's a reason that these monitors are starting to get popular and so I would highly recommend that. If you're trying to decide between like a 1440p 16 by 9 or this guy here or even another 1080p 21 by 9, go with the 1080 21 by night, it's not gonna be as hard to drive so you'll save some money on your GPU and it's an ultra-wide and I again I will never be going back

 It actually has a response time setting on the monitor that does some trickery to basically make the monitor feel like it's responding quicker, but not have ghosting problems and stuff like that. I Usually that setting on medium and it works Excellent. I Do feel that this does respond faster than all the other IPS monitors I've had out there. Whatever LG is doing on the back end there, they're doing a really great job of that

 It's just LG and I think every review where everybody has been trying to tell you guys this, please just make the monitor out of matte materials. it's not it's it's not that hard. you will please everybody and Matt looks better in a lot of people's opinions too. So anyway, that's for the build quality for the design though

 I Actually do think it's a very pretty monitor with the basically bezel is design here. Now of course you've still got the black space up on the Matt glass here. or it's not glass tea. you know what? I mean the matte panel

LG 29UM68-P Review

 Why? Because this isn't a widely accepted or produced format. Not every program is designed for this aspect,nor is every show or movie you will watch. However.
