Lexar Professional 1066x vs SanDisk Ultra microSD Card

I usually buy Sandisk cards. I saw other photographers use the Lexar card so I had to try this one! It's fast and when you need speed to take pictures of a bird in flight that is zipping by you rely on your camera to do the job. The camera can't do the job without a good card to write to! I'm a believer on this Lexar Card. Great shots start with good equipment

I was a little concerned about compatibility and reliability because a few years ago tried to save a buck by getting a tier 2 brand card that literally melted down. This time I took a chance with this non-Samsung card and cannot be more pleased. For one thing, the transfer from my old card to this one did not cause this to get hot. Considering that there was about 29GB involved that was my first indication that this is a well made card

That is a wopping 17gb!!!! That is not small potatoes folks!!! That is a significant amount of memory not present. In the past, I would give a company a pass under the logic of sometimes there is pre-installed software to get the memory card or hard drive to work with the computer and there is always a neat feature like password protection or automatic backup software. I can understand that if the card had pre-installed software, but what is the excuse for a memory card with 17gb missing!!!!! There should be some type of financial penalty for not receiving what I paid for!!!!! Because it appears to be the industry norm, if I received a card from another manufacturer or if SanDisk was to send me a new card, I suspect that it would still have memory missing. Buuuuuuutttt 17gb is unreasonable! I can understand 1 or 2 gb, but 17 gb!!!!! Last, but not least
