 I like the fact that it includes an older USB3 port too - makes it so much easier to add a port replicator. Set up was easy and all of my peripherals worked perfect as soon as I connected it all up. And again a shout out to Amazon for their excellent customer service, I really think it's the smart way to buy a computer these days, I've had only good results when buying computers from Amazon. Best laptop for working/running a business with?

 I would cut the X1 Yoga straight away because the weight isn't great for a tablet machine. And if you need a tablet machine, you're probably fine with dongles anyway because you need something thin and light to hold.

I could list no SD card slot as a negative as I'd really love it but it's not like there was a whole lot of premium laptops with that in this category. Aside of this I'm very satisfied because it has beautiful build quality and display, very nice performance and keyboard + linux runs flawlessly and very fast on it. All and all even though I don't regret the purchase, I think I should have gone for a FHD version, or even a x1 yoga with full hd, purely for battery life reasons, which is the biggest negative of the laptop for me.

until the 7th gen X-1. The touchpad in the 7th gen is a downgrade with reduced features. Worse, the features missing are ones that I use constantly when using the computer. The missing features are: 1) No one-finger scrolling, 2) No chiral motion scrolling

I bought two, one for myself and a family member. Both had the same issues with the keyboard delay after updating all drivers / software, hence 4 stars. I had to uninstall and reinstall drivers on each computer, so it wasn't necessarily an isolated incident, hence 4 stars.

 But for the size, it's not that noticeable. As far as I can tell, it's an IPS panel, which is fine but not stellar.

For the price, the X12 is a solid competitor to Windows Surface and clones. Bought on sale, it becomes the top pick. Alternatively, bought at full price, X12 becomes a bad deal relative to competition. 

Excellent Microsoft Surface Pro Competitor

The Core i5-1130G7 in my test unit offers the various amenities of the 11th Gen line, including Intel’s powerful Xe integrated graphics and support for Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6. Using it was a good, smooth experience: I can’t imagine that anyone using the X12 for standard business work with Chrome tabs, streaming, Zoom calls, and the like will encounter any performance issues. The ThinkPad’s fan was consistently running during my use, but it wasn’t loud enough to be bothersome, and the device never heated up.  

 With the screen around 200 nits of brightness, using the X12 as my daily driver for Chrome tabs, Spotify streaming, Zoom calls, and the like, I averaged around seven hours and 50 minutes to a charge. This is right around what my colleague Tom Warren got out of the Surface Pro 7 Plus, and it means you’ll get close to a full day out of the X12 if your workload is similar to mine.   

99 and $97.49 to the price. That means my X12 model is actually a couple hundred bucks less expensive than the most comparable Surface Pro (which also has less storage).   

The X12 Detachable has a fairly small 42Wh battery. So I was pleasantly surprised to see how long it lasted — especially since the X1 Fold, the last ThinkPad-branded tablet I reviewed, averaged under five hours to a charge. A convertible laptop for ThinkPad fans

7 pounds (760 grams) alone or about 2.5 pounds with the keyboard and pen. Nonetheless, that's lighter than most laptops and it's built to meet 12 Mil-Spec standards.

My Core i5 configuration performed on par with clamshells and convertible two-in-ones with comparable components. It is a step behind 11th-gen Core i7 laptops we've tested, though honestly not by much. If you want a little extra performance or longevity insurance, it would be worth going up to the i7. For everyday office, school or field use, the i5 with 16GB of memory should keep your work zipping along

Given how slim the tablet is and the components inside, I was surprised I was able to get a battery life of 9 hours, 23 minutes from the ThinkPad X12. That's just about an hour shy of Lenovo's battery life claim and it's possible that was with a lower-end Core i3 configuration.
