It is one of a few available that will work with tech-style touring bindings and with resort alpine bindings &#40;the resort bindings must be "GripWalk" compatible&#41;. Our lead test editor and full-time backcountry ski guide has used them for day-to-day guiding, where comfort, downhill performance, and warmth are his biggest considerations.
The weight and lack of touring mobility will narrow the appeal of these boots. They don't tour nearly as well as any other option we assess. We do not recommend them for big days or technical tours. That said, if you're a fan of going into the backcountry for short jaunts and want excellent downhill performance, where the uphill isn't as much of a concern, this is a top recommendation. We've seen people take these exact boots on 8000 vertical feet walkabouts. It isn't recommended and is more a testament to those testers' grit than to the efficiency of the boot. Nonetheless, almost anything is possible.

Nice!  Properly fitting boots are the most important piece of gear.  I also have the Lange XT3….140 version.

I know new skis excite most more than boots, but I’m super stoked for my new, properly fitted boots. Boots that are properly fit are the real key to great days ripping the slopes.

 The main thing in this boot is the walk mechanism. So it's been beefed up. The full hiking system is metal on metal connections, so really strong, we're back in ski mode and then, when you are releasing it up, if it comes, hopefully you can see it. It actually lifts up out in the way, so you pull 53 degrees range of motion and then locking back in the ski mode

 But this one's nice and comfy available in a few different flex options, and it's just a great offering again making it more solid. When it's back in ski mode or like mechanisms, and so I'm gon na give this one - [ Music, ] 

 Also, quite a good loop on the back to help leave your heel down. Overall, it's what you come to expect from laying the same fit as you're always going to feel than most of their boots. But this one's nice and comfy available in a few different flex options, and it's just a great offering again making it more solid. When it's back in ski mode or like mechanisms, and so I'm gon na give this one - [ Music, ] 

 Also, we have grip, walk soles. You have buckle letters with Therese cooks on the end. The main thing in this boot is the walk mechanism. So it's been beefed up

Lange XT 3 Review - 2021

  Custom insoles solved all of that and they are plenty comfortable for a resort or backcountry day, both of which I've experienced in these.  Overall very happy that they are capable of everything I have thrown at them; groomer, bumps, powder, bootpack, & skinning.

If you don't mind the extra weight in the backcountry, these boots are exceptional.  Been about a month and a half dozen ski days so far, two of those at Silverton.  I found the walk mode switch to be more low profile than other comparable boots, but found it more tricky to confirm they're locked into ski mode.  The insoles that came with the boot did not work for me, I have higher arches than average and had discomfort almost immediately and throughout the first day

This is a great boot! Bought Because previous boots had never fit me well but these fit like A glove! Wore them for a trip to Whistler, BC we skied 6 days in a row. My feet were warm and comfortable every single day! Right out of the box! I ski mostly black diamonds so they have the comfort and versatility to shred like a pro! 10/10 would recommend!

This black plastic here, a little bit softer than the orange, and that really helps you get in and out of the boot, as this is a high-end recreational boot. There should be a couple of things in here that make it more user-friendly, and that certainly is one of them

 That really, again, helps get that pressure to the inside edge. So a lot of performance upgrades built into this liner, which also happens to be super comfortable and customizable. So really nice product with this liner. And then we also get Technica's Quick Instep

 This black plastic here, a little bit softer than the orange, and that really helps you get in and out of the boot, as this is a high-end recreational boot. There should be a couple of things in here that make it more user-friendly, and that certainly is one of them. Definitely helps just take a little bit of pressure off the instep, increase circulation and blood flow, and more, try to keep you out there a little bit longer.  Super, super rugged little power strap here. It definitely helps keep the top of the boot closed and really helps with that fore-aft pressure. So if you're pressing on the front of your boot, you're going to get pretty instantaneous feedback onto the edge of the ski.  Hey skiers, it's Bob with SkiEssentials.com. I'm here at Inner Bootworks in Stowe, Vermont.

 I've got the 2023 Technica ski boot lineup on the wall behind me here. I'm going to talk

 about the Mach 1 130 MV, just a fantastic all-around boot for advanced and expert skiers

 with that mid-volume foot. These come in at 100 millimeters in the forefoot with that

 130 flex. You can definitely tell a pretty good difference, especially in the instep

 height of this boot versus the low volume, and then just a little bit more room in the

 throat of the boot to accommodate a slightly larger lower leg. But overall, we're looking

 at that pretty confident advanced and expert skier who's looking for a ton of support.

 Just doesn't happen to have that narrow, narrow foot that a lot of skiers have. But overall,

 this thing is just a really polished product. Four micro-adjustable buckles, all with lift

 lock, and then we get their power strap up top that does have that power lock to it.

 You can really cinch this thing tight. Super, super rugged little power strap here. It definitely

 helps keep the top of the boot closed and really helps with that fore-aft pressure.

 So if you're pressing on the front of your boot, you're going to get pretty instantaneous

 feedback onto the edge of the ski. And then we also have their T-Drive technology in the

 back here, connecting the lower shell to the upper cuff. It really helps with that lateral

 movement. So each and every bit of movement you put into the boot gets directly transmitted
