Our lead test editor and full-time backcountry ski guide has used them for day-to-day guiding, where comfort, downhill performance, and warmth are his biggest considerations.
The weight and lack of touring mobility will narrow the appeal of these boots. They don't tour nearly as well as any other option we assess. We do not recommend them for big days or technical tours. That said, if you're a fan of going into the backcountry for short jaunts and want excellent downhill performance, where the uphill isn't as much of a concern, this is a top recommendation. We've seen people take these exact boots on 8000 vertical feet walkabouts. It isn't recommended and is more a testament to those testers' grit than to the efficiency of the boot. Nonetheless, almost anything is possible.

Nice!  Properly fitting boots are the most important piece of gear.  I also have the Lange XT3….140 version.

I know new skis excite most more than boots, but I’m super stoked for my new, properly fitted boots. Boots that are properly fit are the real key to great days ripping the slopes.

 The main thing in this boot is the walk mechanism. So it's been beefed up. The full hiking system is metal on metal connections, so really strong, we're back in ski mode and then, when you are releasing it up, if it comes, hopefully you can see it. It actually lifts up out in the way, so you pull 53 degrees range of motion and then locking back in the ski mode

 But this one's nice and comfy available in a few different flex options, and it's just a great offering again making it more solid. When it's back in ski mode or like mechanisms, and so I'm gon na give this one - [ Music, ] 

 Also, quite a good loop on the back to help leave your heel down. Overall, it's what you come to expect from laying the same fit as you're always going to feel than most of their boots. But this one's nice and comfy available in a few different flex options, and it's just a great offering again making it more solid. When it's back in ski mode or like mechanisms, and so I'm gon na give this one - [ Music, ] 

 Also, we have grip, walk soles. You have buckle letters with Therese cooks on the end. The main thing in this boot is the walk mechanism. So it's been beefed up

Lange XT 3 Review - 2021

  Custom insoles solved all of that and they are plenty comfortable for a resort or backcountry day, both of which I've experienced in these.  Overall very happy that they are capable of everything I have thrown at them; groomer, bumps, powder, bootpack, & skinning.

If you don't mind the extra weight in the backcountry, these boots are exceptional.  Been about a month and a half dozen ski days so far, two of those at Silverton.  I found the walk mode switch to be more low profile than other comparable boots, but found it more tricky to confirm they're locked into ski mode.  The insoles that came with the boot did not work for me, I have higher arches than average and had discomfort almost immediately and throughout the first day

Heavy, but strong versatility for all terrain & conditions

This is a great boot! Bought Because previous boots had never fit me well but these fit like A glove! Wore them for a trip to Whistler, BC we skied 6 days in a row. My feet were warm and comfortable every single day! Right out of the box! I ski mostly black diamonds so they have the comfort and versatility to shred like a pro! 10/10 would recommend!

We like to think of the Rossignol Pure Pro Heat as the perfect apres-ski boot. It is a fantastic boot for intermediate to advanced skiers who will stay mostly on-piste but will go anywhere the mountain moves them. We were surprised at how stiff the boot felt compared to its flex rating. The fancy exterior finish boasts pink and rose gold accents and faux fur on the cuff of the liner. It may be hard to take the style seriously, but the boot surpassed expectations and performed well across all disciplines.

It did not have as snug of a fit which limited control over our skiing ability. However, the boot still handled well on and off groomers. For those who prioritize mind-blowing warmth and comfort but still want confidence-boosting stiffness and stability, this is the boot for you.

Overall I wouldn’t spend the money on these boots again. Bluetooth works randomly but heating works consistently when operated manually. Rose gold buckles are all scratched and peeling after 7 days skiing. I would buy a heated pair of socks instead

Posting this review to explain a) bluetooth connectivity works just fine, b) you dont need to use the app for the heater to work.

 You might see it flash just as i touch it, although it's not got any charge this one but really simple. You just turn it on, and then it will start pairing with your phone and then you can control the heat from your phone during the day and like all of these heaters, one thing is to remember is that you shouldn't feel, like your feet, are in front Of a fire that is roasting hot in there because all they'll do then is sweat and then, when your batteries run out or if it gets even colder, the sweat will cool down and you'll get even colder than you were before so really important with any heated Liner boots or gloves, or anything that you don't have on the maximum all the time, it should just keep you from being cold. Okay, you shouldn't feel hot and cozy in there. Okay

 So let's have a quick look at this liner and pop this out here. So just looks like your normal standard, everyday liner, the cool part of this in terms of the fluffiness okay, um excuse me is merino wool, so the merino wool is just going to um. You know help retain that moisture to stop you getting cold in there and wool ups holds up to a third of its own weight and moisture and keeps it away from you. Also, it's very good thermal regulator so having that wall liner is going to help as well, and it feels really nice as you're slightly in and out of the liner there

 This one is 100ml arse. This is the pure pro i like this. It'S quite flashy. It'S got like the nice gold buckles on

 So that's the really important thing: don't just buy these online. They can. I get cold feet, they'll, be amazing if they don't fit uh, they won't feel amazing at all. Even if they've got the heaters on they'll just hurt and be hot okay, so you'd uh make sure you do get them fitted uh at a special spoon-feeding shop uh or try them on at least to make sure they're the right fit for you
