$10 Kitchenaid Stand Mixer

 4) The motor response seems like it lags, again compared to my 20 year old 5 qt. The range of speeds seems to go from “mixing with a single chop stick with a broken shoulder” to perhaps a 6 on my archaic previous model.  Yes, in the booklet it states “all speeds have the Soft Start feature.

The bad:  1) The motor is no quieter than my 20 year old Kitchenaid, which is why I chose to purchase a new one anyway. 2) The convenience of the flex edge beater is lost on the lack of additional arms within the beater (as in the previous model I had with the 5 qt version). It simply cannot mix as well. 3) The wire whip does not touch the bottom of the bowl EVEN WITH ADJUSTING THE FLATHEAD SCREW

I love the convenience of a stand mixer, especially when baking with my children.  I am glad I was able to purchase this at a very reasonable price from Costco, otherwise I may have returned it.

The good: The overall appearance of the mixer is sleek and, for lack of a more appropriate word, professional. The flat beater does do a great job of mixing cookie and cupcake batters, with the occasional (expected) scrape with a rubber spatula. I have not utilized the dough hook, and therefore have no opinion but positive at this point.

I purchased this mixer after an inexpensive mixer I received as a gift died while trying to knead bread dough. I expected this new mixer to knead my dough like an Olympic weightlifter would lift a bag of dogfood. It hasn't worked that way. My two-loave recipes make this mixer work hard

 It is fairly easy to use, and it looks fine. It is easy to clean, and it continued to look like new after many uses.  A number of other reviews state complaints about this mixers performance, largely of the nature: this is not built like my grandmother's Kitchenaid. I don't have my grandmother's mixer around to compare with this one

 That said, this mixer feels solid, and seems to have a good deal of power.  I did encounter a problem with it after several months of use, though. Part of the rotation path seemed to lose most of its power. It was as if some gears had become stripped

 Other heavy-duty appliances (such as my Greenstar 300 juicer) took a bit of time to get used to, and I think my initial difficulties with this mixer were just part of the adjustment process.  This mixer makes baking much, much easier, faster, and more fun. It is fairly easy to use, and it looks fine. It is easy to clean, and it continued to look like new after many uses

Good mixer, great service

 Unless you put more than a pound of flour in, there's not enough ingredients for the dough hook to actually knead the dough. Even with the tool adjustment set all the way down, there's still room enough for my whole hand between the hook and the bottom of the bowl.  So instead of an amazingly powerful "professional" machine I will be pleased about putting on my counter once a week and proud when it can make dozens of cookies at once, I got something too big for everyday use and not really good enough for professional use. The only consolation is that the cheaper brands aren't really good enough for even home use, so I've got that going for me

The mixer is very heavy and the bowl lift design is quite cumbersome and  makes bowl scraping and blade removal or change a big mess if not careful. I would not buy this model again and go for the tilt head. The 575 watt motor is not as powerful as one would think . All in all you get what you pay for and this is a sub  250 dollar unit

The KitchenAid has a slow-start protocol built in, so that when you turn it on (by advancing the speed lever - there is no on/off switch) it doesn't sent a puff of flour in the air or splash liquid out (unless you go immediately to high). The Kenmore I had apparently was engineer with a fast-start; I resorted to starting the Kenmore with the beaters up and then lowering them into the bowl when the mixer had gone to it's appropriate speed. Still, if I had a lot of flour in the bowl of the KitchenAid, I'd start with the bowl lowered, and slowly ight the bowl to reduce splatter, etc

 I have just begun to use it, so I don't know how it will wear. If it develops problems from early wear, I'll be back to report on them.

 You wouldn't let your kids play with good kitchen knives or a food processor, so just add this to the list of NOT FOR KIDS.  Original comments: This is in-between a commercial model and the usual stand-mixers I've used. It's not for use by children or careless teens. It's for serous cooks

Been wanting my own KA mixer for years and finally got the best deal here on Amazon. I put the mixer in my wish list about 2 years ago and have watched the price fluctuate by 20 dollars up and down, but it finally took a significant drop and I jumped. So, I have no idea the price others may get, but I found this a great deal at $320, especially when local department stores carry the same model for over $500. I have used the tilt-head model in the past (mother and sister both have one), but read many reviews claiming the tilt-head models in the past decade have had problems with breaking in the tilting mechanism

I received this Kitchenaid Pro 600 mixer for Christmas two years ago and now the worm follower gear has failed. There is no reason a professional grade product like this should fail with minimal use. This is a downgrade in quality and an inferior product. Reaching out to support didn’t help because they would not stand behind their product since it was past the one-year warranty

 All I wanted was the gear and grease sent to me free so I could repair this product. Buyer beware! Stay away from this product! Don’t be fooled by the fancy colors as the internal part will fail on you and support will not provide any assistance beyond the one-year warranty.  I like the fact that I can make cookies that require 6 cups of flour with no issues. But frankly it is very loud. I'm kinda wishing that I would have tried the bosch or even quisinart. If you can stand the noise this is a pretty good purchase

 Beautiful mixer, nice construction. Of course I now need to buy new attachments, but hey.  Only issues I've come across is that the bowl is slightly smaller diameter than the KitchenAid and the motor little bit larger so access to the bowl while working is tighter. Acceptable, but would have like a larger bowl diameter

 Being a long-time KitchenAid stand mixer user, and having dealt with the good and bad... I'd actually buy this one again before the former

 Motor is 600w, direct drive, very quiet even on full speed. The only other issue is that the head bobs up and down in a disconcerting manner when working any larger doughs - still have yet to try my #Blissbread recipe in it as I'm afraid it'll choke, but it may surprise me yet. Will update this if it surprises me enough.  Overall, a very nice stand mixer
