Initially wanted a Bosch, but the sale and added warranty on the KitchenAid were too good to pass up.

Our old bucket of bolts Kenmore broke, and we've been gifted $1100 to go get a new one.

Unfortunately reality caught up with me that every dishwasher brand has some fatal flaw, but Bosch and Miele seem the overall "best" in terms of reliability, and doing.. dishwashing. Kitchen Aid, GE, and Samsung seem a pick your poison situation.

And the cherry on top is our local Home Depot, Lowe's, and Best Buy won't have any Bosch's in until March 2022.

 Any alternatives? are the others *really* that bad? In the U.S.

EDIT: Kept checking at home depot and they had a Bosch 500 series in the warehouse, coming in a week. I can finally sleep well at night awaiting my dishwasher knowing the day of hand cramps are over.

 I'M going to be doing a product review on this kitchenaid dishwasher here model number is kdtm 404 kps ps is going to stand for print shield, so basically what that means. Obviously, you can see my fingers smudging on this appliance, but basically, all that you need to get rid of this is just water and cloth. Usually, if you uh get anything, that's the stainless steel and you don't if you did, that it would smudge even more. So that's what it means by print shield doesn't mean that it's not going to reveal any prints, but basically it's easy, clean up and you can get rid of that super easy

I bought this to replace a 7 year old (they don't make them like they used to!) dishwasher that went out. It does wash pretty well but it is pretty darn loud for a new dishwasher, and the drying cycle leaves much to be desired. I have tried every setting that it has, hoping to find one that dries well. No luck

Any tiny little cupped area, like the bottom side of a mug for example, will retain as much water as it can hold

Washes well...drying is mediocre, at best.

 Biggest complaint is that when it was delivered I was told installer would call to set up appointment within 1 hour and it took over two weeks and hours on the phone with Costco to get someone to do it. Installers would call me saying they would be here in an hour then never show up. Price good but I’m not sure it was worth the stress, frustration and effort I experienced

  The 3 hour wash cycle seems long but that seems to be where everyone is at in order to meet the energy performance standards.  The dishes are fairly close to dry given that it really only uses a fan to circulate air and if the unit did have all the design issues, we likely would be pretty happy with it.  Perhaps we just got a lemon unit, but I definitely wanted to share our experience.

I am happy with the dish washer's performance.  This model has some difficulties for me, not pointed out at purchase. I am older, so crouching down to clean the filter is difficult and I have to shine a flashlight into the rinse aid receptacle to see if it needs more added.  Overall, the dishwasher does a great job and is easy to load and unload
