 The flipper has nicely done jimping for fingertip traction. All edges are radiused and finished. The handle shape is fantastic for a secure hold and the aluminum scales are roughed up slightly for a good grip. The overall size is what is for me the max comfortable pocket carry size

Bigger knives like the BM Barrage take up most of the jeans pocket. This Link is slim enough and just shorter enough to leave pocket room for keys and coins and a hand

  The 420HC steel of the Link is plenty good enough for most purposes. It requires sharpening more often than the S30V but it is a well proven blade stainless steel. I don’t generally like liner locks since you must put your finger in the blade path of travel to unlock it. Use focused attention always when closing one

  The blades of the two knives are very similar: same length, same thickness with a tapered back and point though the Link has a sharper point and slightly more belly, same length of handle and overall, both have quality scales over sturdy stainless liners, same handle thickness. But the Volli costs more than 4x the Kershaw Link.  The 420HC steel of the Link is plenty good enough for most purposes. Superb quality, easy fast opening medium knife

 A qtr turn on the locking nut fixed that without loosening the blade...now it works perfectly

5", not 3.25" as was mentioned in one of the 3 blade descriptions on the Amazon site. Really good value. Started off as a 4-star blade out of the box

Very sharp with premium/super premium steel

I really like my Link and carry it most days. I used to carry my Cryo_2, but I like this better (good steel, feels good). The blade is large enough and 'beefy' enough to take everyday use. The only thing I wish was designed different is that it has a frame lock, that requires one to push it to the side (and thus putting a finger in the path of the blade) when folding

Great everyday knife. Looks good and is practical for tough jobs.

 That was easy enough to sharpen to a point however. With the Link, I found that after I deployed the blade, the lock was very strong, with no blade play. Additionally, some people have concerns about flippers deploying in their pockets and cutting their leg. Obviously caution should always be taken when you're walking a round with a sharp knife, it's not your phone and keys, it's a potential weapon

 That said, the flipping mechanism, though fast and fluid in its movements when you hit the switch, is heavy enough where I imagine it would take unusual pressure to have it deploy by accident. If you want a fast, satisfying, sharp flip knife, Kershaw makes some of my favorites.

 While I did not observe any design flaws with the lock or flipper mechanism, I imagine some factory flaws might exist. When I first go the Headgrille I was surprised to find the tip a little blunt. That was easy enough to sharpen to a point however. With the Link, I found that after I deployed the blade, the lock was very strong, with no blade play

This blade, the Link, and the other Kershaw knife I own, the Headgrille, a sadly discontinued spring assisted flipper, are really solid designs and work well when you need a blade deployed fast with one hand. The Link is smaller and lighter than the Headgrille, and that would perhaps be my only complaint here. I preferred the heavy metal body of the Headgrille, which could be used as a glass breaker in an emergency, over the Link which feels about as light as a Swiss Army Knife in your pocket. Additionally, the light weight of the Link does not equal soft, flimsy quality, as I've found with some knifes from Spyderco for instance. This knife could probably take a beating

 So you need to make sure that you want a small knife, otherwise go with the typhoon Evo, which is much close at a normal Brian, sighs. Next thing, the availability of these guys is a little bit poor um. What happens here is that he does these runs and the problem is well at least my problem. That, though, is a guy based out of Jersey and he does a whole find a custom knives, but he also does these, which are a collaboration with Reyat knives, which is one of the very best knife making companies in the world and especially if they got make Rhinestone and things like that, they're damn near want one of these, certainly in China um and they are, they do amazing work. This is magnificently made, there's nothing

 The pre-order approach is very welcome and way better than what a lot of folks at doing and it's 300 bucks. But honestly that ends up feeling like a value given everything I've talked about here things, though, on the great side, the action on this knife is spectacular. Brian has a very unusual detent system, and if you watch my disassembly you'll get a closer look of it, but you'll see that there on most knives got me at most knives. What'S a good knife with it is most here we go on

The first was the Sharp By Design Micro Evo Typhoon. I always thought I might like this one but had never handled any SBD's. The minute I got it and flipped I fell in love and it is still one of my favourite knives.

I’ve been spoiling myself with stupidly expensive knives in the past year. I tried a sebenza 21 because everyone talked about how amazing it was, and for the price I wanted to hate it. But I tried it, and absolutely fell in love. So much so that I also bought an umnumzaan and inkosi and rotate through all of them. I’m looking to add new knives to the collection like always, and I’m wondering what knives you guys have wanted to hate but fell in love with?

What’s a knife you didn’t expect to fall in love with?

 I mean this is. I cannot make this knife fail to flip. It is a great detent. It is unusual

 This is a stellar knife. This is a production knife that is just as good as most custom knives out there and they did Brian's production line just keeps getting better and better, and I will just keep buying and buying them. Even if they're, not the my dates. They'Re gon na be impressive pieces, and I really desperately hope that this is also a sign of what's to come from Reyat, because if they can keep this standard of quality with their future work, oh my god, am i excited for that brand

 Is this a pocket back? I mean it's the point though. Well look I mean you can't even frickin touch the it is like half an inch under the blade when you eat it anyways. I digress. So to me

 It has a great clip, a great Blade II, low, keel and you'd hold three different handle and blade options and the price on it is pretty solid to me on the great side here, the technically that this is just excellent look um. I was just giving Reyat some crap, but at the end of the day they can make a really nice knife. Everything on this he's done. As far as I'm concerned perfectly, the detent is amazing

 Closing action is there's no guillotine effect, just like gliding smooth as long as you as soon as you disengage. The lock bar blades wants to shut down shut close, but you're gon na need a little bit of a wiggle to get it in the closed position. So really really good and controlled. Closing action, um also uh detent strength - is on the medium strong side, so no uh risk whatsoever for unintentional deployment and uh you're gon na have a very nice also magnetic effect with the detent suction

 I wanted to show you, maybe uh just uh just another couple here, because we have them in the house. This is the um alliance, design mini slim pickings and also we can show you this beautiful skiff knives drifter. So you have an idea of the overall size of this uh typhoon so uh. This is a nice one, guys designed by brian adult made by react 375 dollars more or less made in china

 This guy makes nice and clacky beautiful it's a little bit on the loud side. When you open it, but it's solid, it's clean it's kind of dry. I like it really really cool. Also what it's actually really cool is the weight, because it's not that much

 Even if there's no internal skeletonization, this guy is gon na weight in at 4.04 ounces, which is pretty good for a 3.5 3.6 inch long blade so very, very nicely done zero hot spots in the blade in the handle
