36 ounces, so now that i've talked a little bit about the blade, let's get into what i'm going to be changing now, the client has sent this to me he's a supporter of the channel, which is awesome, and he wanted Me to customize this form, so first will be the scale i'll be getting rid of the blue g10 here and using some aluminum that way, it'll keep the weight down. Just like this g10 is. I don't want to make the knife much heavier. The retention ring here will also be made out of aluminum and then once everything is customized, i've noticed the blade here is stone washed, but everything else is not so once everything is finished, i'm going to give it a nice stone wash all the way around and That'S pretty much all the touches i will be doing to this e train, so i'm going to be taking this thing apart

 On the original scale, i gave it a nice stone wash just to match the uh, the new aluminum scale. It had a smooth finish and i just wanted it to match the blade since the blade. That was really the only thing that was stone washed and the client was saying he wanted everything to match. So that's what i did with the aluminum scale as well, and i think it just looks better and if it gets beat up again, the scratches won't be as noticeable and good thing with the aluminum scale

 I put this thing in my jeans and gave it a few test runs and it works really really well once you get it down, it even worked really well in my basketball shorts. So that's just a really really neat function. Overall, i just really like this blade for just being a trainer i'll just run some really quick specs on this thing, the trainer blade is a 3 cr13 blade, the blade length is 3 inches, the handle length is four and a half inches and with the retention Ring it's five and five eighths and the overall length of this thing is eight and seven eighths. It'S got a blue g10 handle and it's semi-grippy

This is an easy fix. All you need to do is use a needle file (pictured here a cheap hobby diamond file) and make a small grove in the retention hole of the blade along the track that the ball in the frame lock follows. Took me less than 5 minutes, and probably could have been done without taking the blade out (though I did remove the blade to make it easier). A little bit goes a long way, and after a minor touch-up, it opens just fine with your thumb

This trainer is sturdy, well built, and attention is paid to a lot of the details that are missed on a lot of cheaper trainers. Everything operates smoothly, and all of the edges that might catch during training are rounded (this is not the case with cheaper trainers).

It'S i think it's called the e train or the model number 60 34 trainer, and so i'm getting interested in a smaller knife, defense stuff, it's more specifically a libre fighting method and so working with smaller knives, folding knives to explode and stuff

 You know you're trying to mimic that stress method by drawing this out quickly and getting it into action now. The reason why i want to review this knife is for its price. If you get a spiral, co, endura, training knife - i think it's going to be around 80 to 90 bucks, depending where you find it emerson. I think, cost a little bit more and um

I bought this as a less-expensive alternative to the actual Emerson-branded trainers that Emerson sells, and you get what you pay for. Unfolded, the weight and general feel are nice, and the handle design is comfortable, and your index finger tucks neatly into the finger choil. (It's a nicer shape than that of my actual Mini CQC-7.) But I can't recommend this trainer, for two reasons:

) At the very least, the clip side needs to be anodized blue if they're going to stick with the one-piece metal design, but grips on both sides and a thinner liner on the clip side would be better.

2) The detent holds onto the blade so firmly that it can't be thumbed open. Adjusting the pivot screw to fix this introduces unacceptable levels of blade wobble. You either have to use two hands to open it, or rely on the wave feature as you draw it from a pocket. I wear hakama in the art that I bought this for, so I actually can make use of the wave feature, but if you're from a school that wears judogi-style uniforms (judo, BJJ, karate, TKD, and the like), you're out of luck

Suffers from some major flaws for dojo use

 and this kershaw one runs 25$. It's a little heavy but I think the added weight will only benefit training.

 The only complaint I have with the Kershaw Emerson knives is that the scale on handle is a bit smooth and I felt like I wanted better grip while drawing. I fixed this by filing in a few ridges where my thumb contacts the knife while drawing out of my pocket.

And with a high price tag, only serious cutters should consider this product.

 The flipper has nicely done jimping for fingertip traction. All edges are radiused and finished. The handle shape is fantastic for a secure hold and the aluminum scales are roughed up slightly for a good grip. The overall size is what is for me the max comfortable pocket carry size

Bigger knives like the BM Barrage take up most of the jeans pocket. This Link is slim enough and just shorter enough to leave pocket room for keys and coins and a hand

  The 420HC steel of the Link is plenty good enough for most purposes. It requires sharpening more often than the S30V but it is a well proven blade stainless steel. I don’t generally like liner locks since you must put your finger in the blade path of travel to unlock it. Use focused attention always when closing one

  The blades of the two knives are very similar: same length, same thickness with a tapered back and point though the Link has a sharper point and slightly more belly, same length of handle and overall, both have quality scales over sturdy stainless liners, same handle thickness. Superb quality, easy fast opening medium knife

 A qtr turn on the locking nut fixed that without loosening the blade...now it works perfectly

Very sharp with premium/super premium steel

I really like my Link and carry it most days. I used to carry my Cryo_2, but I like this better (good steel, feels good). The blade is large enough and 'beefy' enough to take everyday use. The only thing I wish was designed different is that it has a frame lock, that requires one to push it to the side (and thus putting a finger in the path of the blade) when folding

Great everyday knife. Looks good and is practical for tough jobs.

 That was easy enough to sharpen to a point however. With the Link, I found that after I deployed the blade, the lock was very strong, with no blade play. Additionally, some people have concerns about flippers deploying in their pockets and cutting their leg. Obviously caution should always be taken when you're walking a round with a sharp knife, it's not your phone and keys, it's a potential weapon

 That said, the flipping mechanism, though fast and fluid in its movements when you hit the switch, is heavy enough where I imagine it would take unusual pressure to have it deploy by accident. If you want a fast, satisfying, sharp flip knife, Kershaw makes some of my favorites.

This blade, the Link, and the other Kershaw knife I own, the Headgrille, a sadly discontinued spring assisted flipper, are really solid designs and work well when you need a blade deployed fast with one hand. The Link is smaller and lighter than the Headgrille, and that would perhaps be my only complaint here. I preferred the heavy metal body of the Headgrille, which could be used as a glass breaker in an emergency, over the Link which feels about as light as a Swiss Army Knife in your pocket. That said, there are many benefits to a sharp, pointy blade that you can deploy fast with one hand in an emergency and which is small and light enough to palm in your hand

Additionally, the light weight of the Link does not equal soft, flimsy quality, as I've found with some knifes from Spyderco for instance. This knife could probably take a beating
