  At the end of the day, I like the style of the knife, so I'll be keeping the second one, but I also expected more from Kershaw and will be wary of their Chinese production in the future.

 Unfortunately this first knife also has some fatal flaws. The first and worst is that the blade doesn't open smoothly, and is held too tightly in the pivot. This isn't too unusual in itself, however the normally easy fixes of a bit of oil and adjustment of the pivot screw did not effect any improvement at all - in fact even with excessive side to side blade play the pivot was still too tight. As if that wasn't enough, the pivot actually squeaks when opening and closing

 My second complaint from the first knife was the poor quality edge. With the replacement it's better, but still just OK. It's not as sharp as it could be, but it doesn't look like it was produced at the end of the shift on a Friday either. One unusual new "feature" of the replacement - after the blade was deployed I could hear a rattle

 This knife is a very simple and unique designed edc. I always enjoy finding a new style from an old maker that is still super reliable yet with a different look and blade design. Great for my collection and for the price this is just great. You will definitely get some comments when you bring this blade out for use

Victorinox (Swiss Army Knife) Pioneer -will last a lifetime and can be passed down. It’s all metal, very classy. Not American made, Swiss made.

My husband turns 40 next month, and I’d like to get nice him a long-lasting (preferably American made) gift.  I’m not talking sports car or anything, but we do okay and it doesn’t have to be inexpensive.  I just want to get him something that will give several years of joy and use.  Has anyone received anything like that?  Thanks for your help

Owning this model Swiss Army knife is like having a miniature toolbox on your belt.  This is the third Victorinox Swiss Army SwissChamp pocket knife that I've owned. I carried the last two SwissChamps in a black leather Victorinox Pocket Knife Clip Pouch (B000HJKT9Q)

 This leather case has a belt loop, rather than a clip. Before I ordered this pouch, I read a number of the many great reviews on Amazon. One of the reviewers, "Tool Collector," noted that the SwissChamp was a tight fit in this case, and that the case was made of dry stiff leather. "Tool Collector" suggested using Neatsfoot Oil to soften the leather of this case

 Wanting to avoid scratching the new knife's shinny new ABS scales, I purchased a bottle of Neatsfoot oil to have on hand for when the new case and knife arrived.  When I received my new SwissChamp, and the Swiss Army leather case, I was disappointed to see a number of large scratches on both of the ABS scales (grips). The SwissChamp, which arrived in a sealed Victorinox cardboard box, wasn't wrapped in a protective layer of tissue paper, or anything else. While I'm not sure how the scratches actually happened, I suspect it may have occurred during shipping

Beautifully Made, Compact, Multi-Tool

 I would recommend the purchase of the applicable leather sheath. Although the knife is not excessively heavy it is a little bulky and more suited to belt carry for EDC use.

 but I think the scales are going to be a problem over time no matter how you carry it.

 I mean come on Victorinox, you make basically everything out of quality constructed stainless steel but go cheap there? I would gladly have paid a little extra to get the magnifying glass holder made of stainless. Oh well, hope I don't break it. And (2:) The Price. I paid at the time about $73 which is a lot but to be honest, even though you get a lot of functions, it seems a bit steep
