Kensington Expert Wireless Trackball Mouse vs Logitech Ergo M575

The reason for my purchase was so that the user, my daughter, would not be tethered to the computer and forced to sit next to it. When I was a teen, I bought a similar Kensington trackball with a generous amount of cord. I would play games on my computer from the comfort of my bed. This is similar to how my daughter now uses it

Replacement for an older version of this trackball. The buttons wore out on the old one after a few years, but both the old and new ones worked well. 4 stars because the old one wore out, otherwise 5 stars.

This is not an ergonomic trackball. It is basically a flat surface with the ball in the middle and button arranged symmetrically around the ball rather than ergonomically. The wrist rest makes an important addition, as does the upward angle of the trackball itself, but these are by no means enough to call this trackball ergonomic. I still experience some discomfort, especially because of the flat surface and non-ergonomic buttons

This did slight help with wrist pain. I felt that the discomfort just shifted to different area. The mouse is a bit bulky and the ergonomic design is not for everyone. May be it is good of you have large hands

Two can play this game. I'm a two-decade + Logi customer looking for a new brand of pointing device.

I plugged in the track ball to the Mac's keyboard, installed the software, and that was it. Up and running in no time. And most important, I have taken the batteries out of the Magic Mouse and stored the MM on the bookshelf. Since I have not had the need to clean the track ball, I have not rated "cleaning" as part of the evaluation

Overall it is a nice trackball even though it feels like a 1.0 design. I am looking forward to Kensington's next iteration of the wireless expert trackball.

The learning curve for using this sort of mouse is pretty minimal, especially if you've played games on console and use a joystick to move the in game cursor. I have a couple of personal issues with this mouse. The ergonomics for me are not that optimal as: my hands are big and I prefer a more vertical tilt. The mouse would feel great for me if the tilt was slightly more aggressive and my hand (which is slightly above average) hangs off the side of the mouse

What I like about the Expert: The buttons are fantastic, way better than those on the fusion. A solid click, easy to get to, perfect. The scroll ring is smoother and it isn't so tall that it covers up half the area of the ball. The ball weight is exactly what I wanted

Can get frustrating because the mouse moves quickly, I need to slow it down. Otherwise great Ergonomic design. Note that the USB is inside of the battery case. I missed it when I was first looking for it

Anyway - back to my review. I've been using trackballs for a LONG time. I don't like to use a mouse - it takes up a lot of desk space, it requires a lot of arm movement, it usually requires a smooth scrolling surface, the buttons have stopped working (on the mice that I DID use). I prefer a trackball over a mouse

It looks good it feels right, and it doesn’t hurt my hand. It talks to my computer seamlessly and I love it.
